Label Me This

Ok, so riddle me this.  How does a pantry re-organization happen by accident?  I’ll tell you how.  See I was working on a little project in the kitchen involving chalkboard paint (I’ll show you that project soon) when it happened.

My daughter innocently enough came into the kitchen to ask for a snack.  She opened the pantry and said, “WHOA, momma this is a mess!”
She was right.  It was a total mess.  I had just been shoving things in there because I’ve been a little preoccupied at the moment with lots of other house projects.  However, I decided if a 4 year old thought it was a mess then I really needed to do something about it.  And since I already had a roller loaded with chalkboard paint in my hand I decided to do this.
Before painting the fronts of the pull-out shelves in my pantry, I used a little sandpaper to lightly sand the surface.  Then I applied 2 coats of chalkboard paint with a foam roller.  Then I pulled everything out and did a little cleaning and reorganizing.
Then as the picture shows I rubbed the side of a piece of chalk over the entire surface.  (The instructions on the back of the chalkboard paint can are very easy to follow.  They recommend waiting 3 days to let the paint cure before rubbing chalk on it to prepare the surface, but I didn’t wait that long.  I mean it is just a pantry, and I wanted to get this done and finish my other project.)
Here’s a little closer look.   And here’s a look at the finished, reorganized, and labeled pantry project.
We’ll see how long this lasts.  Here’s hoping anyway!  Have you done any accidental organizing lately?
