Lately I’ve been loving layered rugs.
I love the way layering makes the top area rug look like a piece of art for the floor. The bottom rug acts as a frame and really makes the rug layered on top pop. All of a sudden the rug becomes a statement piece. I just love this look lately, and I’m noticing layered rugs more and more in many of my favorite design magazines. Are you loving this look or is it not for you? What are you loving lately?
I'm loving this too. Actually the only thing we've got in this Dubai apartment so far is a seagrass rug. I love that it will form the base for anything I decide to layer on it later on 🙂
I have layered rugs, but it is more for practical purposes. We have rough rug, and brought down a smaller soft rug when the baby started crawling. The soft one isn't big enough for the room on its own, so we just threw it on top of the rough one! lol.
I agree with Courtney above. And I think it's a fun way to invest in a large neutral rug and then have fun with a super trendy pop of color or print on top. Easier and more affordable to switch out later on!

I love this look, too! I recently just layered rugs in my master bedroom!
One of my favorite things to do. Smaller rugs are always cheaper and they give you that burst of pattern or color…

I love the look in the rooms above but I think it's because you've picked rooms with two rectangular rugs where the bottom rug is very neutral. I'm not such a fan of the layered look with different shaped and coloured rugs. Maybe I'm just being boring? It would be a great idea to cover ugly floors, buy a big cheap simple rug, and layer with a more expensive pretty one!
