It’s Gettin’ Hot In Here

We switched the thermostat to cool (so that we wouldn’t have to take off all our clothes). 😉 Believe me when I say, “I AM NOT COMPLAINING!” I love me some warm weather. The warmer temps have drawn me outside, and over the weekend we did some much needed yard work. I can see my hub rolling his eyes now – okay – he did the yard work. I did the heavy lifting – as in I lifted the iPhone to take some pics. 😉 That’s how I roll – what can I say?!

I snagged some new lights for the patio from Target…..

and my man got to work with the staple gun…….

and now we have mood lighting. oooohhhhh……..aaaaaahhhh

Now to find a table that seats 8, plant some flowers, make some minor patio changes, and plant a vegetable garden (for. the. first. time. ever!). .

I’d love to have a little something like this in my backyard.

This weather is amazing! My kids are taking full advantage of it too. Love the mood lighting. Can't wait to get outside and tackle some projects!

I'm definitely itching to get outside & start working!! We are really wanting to add a pergola to our back patio this year, so I'm looking forward to that!! I'm also looking forward to planting flowers, but its still a little early for that!! Love the lights that your hubby installed on your patio! They look great!!

I'm going to do a veggie garden this year too for my first time! Can't wait! I have no idea what I'm doing but it should be fun:) It will be a while yet though.. still lots of snow here!

I did a veggie garden last year and I think I was a little over zealous. This year Im taking it back a notch and just doing tomatoes and herbs. Love the lights btw

I'm itching like crazy!!! I'm one of the few that has NOT had the 80 degree weather…it has been snowing off and on here all week. Kind of jealous right now especially after seeing what you did with the lights.

Oh well…in due time I guess 🙂

I don't think I could grow veggies if my life depended on it. But lights. . . all over that. I saw those. They are so darling. Can't wait to see what else you do for the summer out there.

On the veggie garden, just go buy some and stick them in the ground. I've been hampered myself by analysis paralysis, but at the end of the day just do it. Get something you already eat. Check the internet for your zone (you can look it up here "http://www.garden.org/zipzone/" by zip code). Then, look up what to plant now for your zone, which can also be found on the internet. Buy it. Plant it. Eat it.

Ooooh I like the new lighting! I'll have to look for that at Target!
We used to have a veggie garden, tons of fun with little kids! It needs a lot of attention though so now I just do container gardening that is easier for me to maintain. Your kids will love seeing veggies grown on the vine!

Hmm, veggies, dig deep into the soil to mix it up a lot. I hear it helps the plant's roots grow well. Definitely plant some basil, it smells so good!

I'd love to have a garden like that as well! So pretty. First it has to stop raining here, though, so I can actually work in the garden.

I tried to convince my husband to get those lights at target! love them!

I hope all of you Easterners are just living it up! Those of us on the west coast are sitting under gray skies and 60° temperatures. Count your blessings!

Love the lights! I'm also planning on doing a veggie garden with my kids. I'm hoping it'll get them to try and eat a bigger variety of healty food 🙂
