Christmas Mantel 2012

I used many of the same elements that I used on our mantel last year with a few new additions.

I let White Beauty borrow my new Gap scarf.  I’ll get it back from her on December 26th.  ðŸ˜‰   The trees are new.  I couldn’t resist checking out the Christmas decor aisle at Target and absolutely fell in love with their sweet sort of sparse look.  They look like little Charlie Brown trees to me.  I topped them with a couple of star tree toppers I’ve had for years.  The joy wreath I made last year is on the mantel this year.
I’m using only fresh greenery this year, mostly from our backyard, and I added in a few pine cones from my abundant stash.  The pillar candles were wrapped with that same wrapping paper I used on the votives in the breakfast room
The gold chain from the hardware store I used as garland on our tree last year is strung between the stockings this year.  I love the little bit of sparkle its adds to the mantel.
I love this special time of year!  Are your stockings hung yet?
Don’t forget – there’s still time to enter!

  • Wonderful! The scarf is the icing on the cake. Love it. I was watching the rerun of Emily Henderson's Christmas show and she used the gold chain as well. You may see it on my mantel as well! 😉

  • I love the scarf! I totally want to go tie one around my deer now 🙂 Hey also- if you wanna win $200 to Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, or West Elm stop by my blog by tomorrow… I know you do!!

  • I love it!!! and if I ever visit your house and you find that horse missing–you'll know where to look 😉 he's my fave!!

  • Your post made me run out to Target and buy one of those cute trees! Bad, bad, bad! 😉 Love your festive mantel!

  • Just catching up on December. The scarf looks awesome on White Beauty. I'm not usually into dressing up animals (or fake decor animals) but perhaps she needs a new scarf … or hat … or something now and then. Fun!

I also wanted to congratulate you for all of your success this year. I am always behind on my blog reading, so I was surprised and delighted to see your name as an OKL curator a few months ago! You seem to have an endless supply of creativity and quite a work ethic, and it's great that you've been able to share your talents with lots of others!
