I really haven’t done much decorating in the kids’ bathroom since we moved in 3 years ago. I knew that we would eventually be replacing the bathroom vanity, so I figured I would just wait to do any major decorating until we were ready to renovate. I’m excited to say that last week we ordered a new vanity and counter top, so project update-the-kids’-bathroom has officially begun!
Decorating for the sexes can be a little tricky. Especially when you’re decorating for a boy and girl with very different opinions. Shower curtains tend to fall in the feminine or masculine department. I picked up 2 shower curtains that passed the gender neutral test (in my opinion). I’ve had them for quite a while. In fact one I purchased over a year ago. Remember Missoni for Target?
The blue ikat I purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond last fall. I brought both curtains out over the weekend and let the kids come to a mutual agreement on which one they would like to use in their bathroom.
My daughter wore her Halloween costume all weekend long? Anyhow, they both picked the blue ikat print. My girl said, “The lighter blue in this curtain looks girlie, and the darker blue is more boyish.” So there you have it – we’re going with the blue ikat. And everybody is happy! My design wheels are now spinning like crazy.
The good news for one of you lucky ducks is I’m giving this Missoni for Target curtain away! I’ve had it in a storage closet for over a year, and I don’t think (even if I could find the receipt) that I would be able to exchange or return it. It’s such a fun pattern and I really dig the black and white; so I’d be happy knowing one of you will get to use it!
It’s reversible too!
I follow your blog and I want to win the shower curtain. Love the print. Love your daughters costume.
