What’s On My Mind This Friday

Thank goodness it’s Friday.  I am so ready for the weekend.  There are lots of random things on my mind today, so let’s get to it – shall we?

1.  I bought a Clarisonic back around December, and I’ve become slightly obsessed.  It’s amazing – totally worth every penny.  My skin is so grateful.

Clarisonic Mia is available in multiple colors

2.  In other skincare news, I caved and decided to try the BB (beauty balm) cream that everyone has raved about.  I think it works great as a tinted moisturizer, but it’s not exactly life changing, for me anyway.  I do like it, but so far I’ve yet to notice anything overly amazing about they way it makes my skin look (maybe it varies by brand?).  Have you tried a BB cream?  Which brand do you use?

3.  Do you watch The Voice?  If so, what are your thoughts about Usher as a coach?  He’s a little intense for me.  But maybe I just miss Cee Lo.  So far I don’t have a favorite contestant.  Do you?
4.  I really, really love this necklace from Charles Emerson Designs.  It’s now on my Mother’s Day wish list -Brad, that was directed at you.

5.  There’s still time to vote!

  • That necklace is amazing! I have tried a couple BB creams and I really like Urban Decay Naked Skin. It feels amazing on and it works well under make up or by itself for a fresh face. Have a great weekend! xo Kristin

  • It's so funny how different opinions are. I have had a a Clarisonic for a long time and it's just sitting there because I don't care for it!
Love that necklace too! Have a great weekend.

  • so true! My skin is sensitive and sometimes scrubs can be too harsh -so I really like how gentle it is while still exfoliating – I haven't used a facial scrub since I bought it. I had my doubts about it at first – but now I'm so addicted to using it. It's like mini-facial 😉

  • I also tried that same BB cream and was disappointed in how sheer the coverage turned out. Maybe I should try another? Personally, I am really hoping they bring Shakira back again- she is a great blend of funny and passionate. And her "fights" with Adam are a thousand times less annoying than X-tina. : )

  • I just started using Too Faced BB Cream. I've heard really good things about it. So far, I like it… and it's providing nice coverage… but I'm not ready to say life-changing yet either. I'll give it time, though.

  • 1. New convert to the Clarisonic – LOVE it! I wasn't sure I would, but I am shocked at the change in the texture of my skin.

    2. I love my BB Cream, I think it provides the perfect amount of coverage. I use:

It goes on really smooth for me; I started out applying it with a brush, but I one time used just my fingers and I can't tell the difference, so I just do that now. I feel like compared to the other couple of BB creams I've tried, it takes less and provides better coverage, so this might be worth a try for you?

  • I love my Clarisonic! And I've tried the same BB cream you have there, I love it. I feel like it really evens my skin tone.

  • I have a Clarisonic too and I love it! 🙂
I also use a BB cream, and I find that it doesn't give super great coverage (I have a lot of cystic acne) but it does provide some coverage, and doesn't irritate my skin. I use Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm! I buy mine at Sephora and try to stock up when they have coupon codes out! Which p.s. right now they have a coupon code for 15% off — code is: CHIC 🙂

  • Totally with you on the Usher comment. His "coaching" techniques are pretty esoteric and I think he is scaring those poor young contestants to death! Also, his song choices for the battle rounds have not proved to be very good. Love Shakira though (and of course Blake and Adam).

  • I'm a huge fan of The Voice. I like Usher okay, but it seems like he is a little cocky and makes it about him instead of the contestant. I will forever and always be "Team Adam". My teenage daughter has been wanting to try some of the BB cream. A lot of her friends really like it.

  • The BB creams I've used (with great results) are Garnier's for Normal/Oily Skin and L'Oreal's. Garnier's has the consistency more like straight foundation while L'Oreal's has more moisturizing aspects and slides on better (and doesn't make freckles look weird and semi-opaquely covered).

  • I started out trying the Clinique BB (since I've used Clinique skin care since high school) but was disappointed because it made my skin feel dry. But I recently bought Laura Gellar BB and it is FABULOUSO!! Holy Fountain of Youth, Batman! And it makes my skin feel fresh and clean–I hate that suffocating feeling when foundation won't let your skin breathe. It last all day and since I started using it (about a month ago) my skin looks better even when I have nothing but moisturizer on (like to walk the dogs or just be home during the day). Your skin always looks perfect in your pictures, Carmel, so it may be that you don't NEED BB yet and so it was a little under-whelming for you. Be thankful!! At my age it was a nice surprise 🙂

  • I think I may cave and get a clarisonic…you really like it that much? CVS has the Olay one for $30 you know 😉

And this is the first time we've ever watched the voice, so I can't compare, but I really like all the judges!
