Styling a Dorm Room with Crane & Canopy

I sort of jumped at the chance to participate in a dorm room styling challenge with Crane & Canopy.  My good friend just sent her first born baby girl off to college- gulp!

Dorm rooms can be a bit sterile and void of personality.  In addition, most students and parents don’t like to invest too much money in decorating a temporary living space.  However, even on the smallest budget you can create a welcoming, lively space and really give your dorm room some character.  For a freshman I think it’s especially nice to create a comfortable and personal space where you can ease into college campus life.

Every item but the rug is under $100 and most are under $40.  The larger and slightly more expensive items like the side table, lamp and rug could be easily moved from a dorm room to a first apartment.  When decorating a dorm room I think it’s best to start by choosing the bedding.  The Noe Blue Duvet is a great color with a large scale bold print which gives you lots of different styling options.

Check out how these other bloggers styled this same bedding.  Every style is different, yet the bedding is the same.  I love a duvet that offers limitless styling options!  Don’t you?

  • So pretty. We just got back from taking baby girl back to the university. She is in a duplex this year with sorority sisters. I was amazed at the things they created for their space. (posted pics a couple days ago if you want to take a look)
