Clean Beauty Gift Guide

If you’ve been around Our Fifth House for more than a few months you know my other passion is clean beauty. I even run a separate Instagram account, @carmelshouseofbeauty, that is wholly devoted to my love for beauty products that are made with safe, effective ingredients by companies that care about people and our planet first, profits second. And so while I’m not one to put together a bunch of gift guides during the holiday season, I always share a clean beauty gift guide here. And this year’s guide is all about self-pampering because that is what the ritual of beauty is all about for me.

1. This set includes all of my favorite facial masks from Tata Harper. Which makes this gift set better than a spa gift certificate! You can give yourself multiple luxury spa treatments in the comfort of your own home. Or gift this set to someone else. 😉

2. The perfect way to give your makeup bag a little holiday sparkle this season is with this limited edition Beautycounter set that is on sale for 20% off TODAY ONLY! #yayforcybermonday This eyeshadow palette is talc-free and made with responsibly sourced mica. And this gorgeous, gold shimmery lip gloss is made with responsibly-sourced vanilla.

3. Hands down, I think this Beautycounter skincare set is the best of all of Beautycounter’s holiday sets this year! You can grab it today for 20% off PLUS get free shipping! This brand-new facial mask contains a good-for-skin blend of acids – 10% AHA and 10% phytic acid – to resurface dull, tired skin and improve tone and texture. And the All Bright Vitamin C serum is the perfect compliment. These two combine to deliver bright, glowing skin!

4. I fell in love with this blow-dryer brush ealier this year, and I’m still singing its praises. I love this thing so much! No longer do I dread blow-drying my hair. It gives my hair a smooth finish without any product and in half the time!

5. Detox baths are my favorite way to unwind. And these salts are heavenly!

6. Made with organic shea butter, coconut and avocado oil and without synthetic fragrance, this whipped body butter is nourishing to the skin and has a soft vanilla scent that isn’t overly sweet or overpowering.

7. I fell in love with Prose hair care last year (included Prose in my favorite things of 2020) and have yet to find something I love more. I appreciate that their products are customized. And since using Prose shampoo & conditioner, I feel like my hair has never been healthier. You can gift Prose really easily, and I think it makes for the perfect present for an out-of-town friend or family member as gift cards are sent digitally with a special link for the recipient to redeem their gift after taking the online Prose consultation.

8. Truth be told, when I first saw this Clean Sweep set from Beautycounter I didn’t think it made any sense. Who would want a gift set that includes all four of Beautycounter’s cleansers?! But as I got to thinking about this set a little more, I realized it was actually a pretty genius gift set idea. Because when it comes to facial cleansers, skin type isn’t the most important factor to consider. Finding the right cleanser for your skin is mostly about preference, but more often than not, the only way to find the perfect cleanser for you is to try FULL SIZES – which is such a waste of money. So this travel size set of all four cleansers is SO smart! It’s basically a cleanser sampler, and it’s the perfect way to try them all and figure out which one you like best before you invest in a full size product.

*It’s also a great set to have on hand in your guest bathroom for overnight guests!

9. Last but not least, I’ve raved about these makeup brushes before, so I had to include them here. And bonus, they’re on sale right now for about $10! They’d make a great gift or stocking stuffer!
