You’ll understand this title very soon. Just go with it. Mmmmkay?
First of all I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one with the 5-minute-to-5-hour issue! Really, I thought maybe I was actually crazy. I must be normal if you all have this same problem right?! 😉
Anyhow, I have to let you know, in case you haven’t already seen the results, that my Crafting with the Stars days have come to an end. Picture me crying.
Ok, you know me too well. I’m totally fine. I’m sitting here typing and drinking a hot cup of DD hazelnut coffee! There’s nothing better than the DD!
I’m actually relieved because trying to come up with project ideas is really hard.
The end of the road isn’t so bad anyway. This competition was the push I needed to get some projects done that I’ve been wanting to do for a while now. The best part was being paired with Beth, my blogland star!
In fact, I’m over at her blog guest posting today! How awesome is that?! She has been so encouraging, and it has been great to be able to pick her creative mind!
Want to know which Upcycled project was mine? Well, I made ……….
My hub picked up these pallets off the side of the road for me one day. Then he screwed them together. With a little sanding, staining, and some cushions, I created an outdoor daybed for my little peeps.
The luminary garland and lantern were made with soup cans. Actually the lantern was made from a can of nuts. I used a hammer and nail to poke some holes, spray painted, and then used some outdoor craft paint to embellish them a bit more.
If you decide to make these be sure to poke all your holes before you spray paint. Ask me how I know this. 😉 They look cute during the day, but at night they are precious!
I just love those battery operated flicker lights. You can find them everywhere now, but the best deal on them is at The Dollar Store.
The kids love this spot!
There’s nothing better than the sound of your kids reading.
Well, maybe except for the sound of them laughing.
Guess who decided to make this daybed theirs?
Jake (the black dog) and Prince (the yellow one), my first babies, have completely taken over. See I told you the end of the road is covered in dog hair! At least the end of my Crafting with the Stars road is.
Prince isn’t going to give this thing up without a fight. That dog is the funniest.
I’m so glad I had the opportunity to be a part of this competition, and I wish the remaining contestants all the luck in the world! I hope the fire this competition lit within me keeps on burning because I have a lot of other projects I’d like to accomplish before the end of the year. Good thing I’m still on an adrenaline high, or maybe that’s just the DD?!
Have you done any upcycling lately? I might have to make more of those luminary cans. They are so easy to make. Wouldn’t they be cute for a Santa’s sleigh runway? Yes, I just busted out with a Christmas idea before Halloween. Don’t hate me.
Totally love this idea, and mine would be covered in dog hair as well! My dog thinks the chaise lounge is all hers as it is!
