Well hello there! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I spent my Christmas break loafing, lounging, and …….well, let’s not talk about the eating okay. It was great to have some time to relax, but I am ready for a new year of projects and possibilities! Happy New Year to all of you!
The picture above is my very first photo taken with my new BIG GIRL CAMERA! ACK! I got a Canon Rebel T3 DSLR! It was my Christmas present to myself. I’ve never owned or operated a fancy camera. I’ve always used a good, but pretty basic, point and shoot. To be honest I was never really interested in photography, but spending time in the blogging world has peaked an interest within me. It’s kind of like how I wasn’t interested in decorating until I had a place of my own to decorate. Anyhow, I’ve watched many bloggers grow their photog skills, and I’m very excited to learn.
I played around in manual mode today. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I sure am having fun! I didn’t edit (like I usually do) any of these photos. I want to be able to look back at the end of the year and see if I’ve learned anything. HA! Let’s hope I learn something.
I don’t make a list of resolutions; I just make one. My resolution this year is to do a 365 photo challenge. I’m challenging myself to take a picture every day of 2012.
Today’s picture is the last all-day pajama day of Christmas break. I actually took more than just one photo.
As you can see I was also working on “un-decking the halls”. See, my house isn’t always clean like you think it is.
My boy asked for footed pajamas for Christmas.
These are from Lands End – in case your boy needs some too.
I hope he never gets too old to wear footed pj’s!
Well, it’s back to school in the morning, but at least we savored our last lazy day!
At least the boy and I did; the hubs and the girl went to the mall. That boy and I – we are like two pajama peas in a pod. 😉
How was your New Years celebration? Did you make any resolutions? Anyone else spend the first day of 2012 in their pjs? Who wants to join me in this 365 photo challenge? If you know any great photog blogs please leave a link in the comments section. As you can tell, I need all the help I can get!
*****UPDATE: After almost a year of playing with my new toy every day I’ve sort of mastered the manual mode. I’m not a professional or anything, but I’ve come a long way. I shared what I’ve learned on my photography journey – tips and tricks – here.
Awesome!! I'm so excited for you about your new toy!! It is SO fun (: What a great PJ day. I did the same today!
