Girls Can Change the World

I showed you the built-in bookcases that I’ve been working on in my girl’s room.

They aren’t done yet because I decided to clean out the drawers before I finish painting.  These drawers are so great for storage.  I spent some time helping her sort, clean, and organize all of her toys.

Here’s a little mom trick:  Line your drawers or bins with old blankets or sheets and instead of calling it “clean up time” you can say “time to put the babies to bed”.  Whatever gets them to clean up their rooms is a good idea in my opinion.

I took these pictures for her to be able to look back one day to see all the toys she liked to play with.  I don’t know if any of this stuff will be kept.  One of the only toys I kept from my childhood is this roller skating doll.  I guess you could say she’s my Woody, although I didn’t put my name on her skate.  😉

Clearly I’m a product of the 80’s.  😉  Does anyone roller skate anymore?  On the topic of “remember the 80’s”, what does this photo make you think of?
Does that not remind you of the scene in E.T. when he’s hiding in the closet?  LOVE that movie!
Anyhow, I know this post seems odd and a bit out of left field.  While I was sorting through things and helping her decide what to keep and what to donate, grouping things, and putting things away, I came across her Build-a-Bear.
I never really noticed the shirt it has on before………
………but I seriously love it!  I thought that would be a great way to start the week!  Yes indeed girls can change the world!
Happy Monday!
