Playing With My Food

Happy Wednesday!  Woot- I love it when the week starts on a Tuesday!

Today I’m sharing two of my new favorite things that I’ve recently come across in blogland.

First is Cassie’s, you know probably know her as Mrs. Sugarplum, two ingredient pumpkin bread.

Hi Sugarplum!

It is soooo good and soooo easy to make!  It literally is just two ingredients which is just perfect for a non-baker like myself.  I love pumpkin even when it’s not technically pumpkin season, but these really aren’t too pumpkiny (that’s a technical term).  I’ve tried this recipe a couple of times and every time it’s a hit.  Just last week I made my kids a fresh-from-the-oven afternoon snack of pumpkin muffins and that time I added dark chocolate chips!  Oh. my. word.  They were gone baby gone in about 15 minutes or so.

Clearly I’m not a baker.  I didn’t even fill the cups evenly!

In fact, on that particular day I also treated myself (or rather my skin) to a nice pumpkin mask too!  Thanks to Kristin’s pumpkin face mask recipe!

I actually made the mask before I made the muffins, and then while the muffins were baking I got my homemade facial on.  My kids looked at me like I was completely crazy, but my skin felt amazing!  I highly recommend trying this mask.

If you’re going to bust out a can of pumpkin to make a mask, you might as well make some two ingredient pumpkin bread while you’re at it!  Treat your skin and your taste buds at the same time.  Talk about some serious multi-tasking- ha!  Sometimes it’s good to play with your food.  ðŸ˜‰

What have you been inspired to try lately?

  • I did this for Thanksgiving. It turned out great! My sister in law had made a similar cake but also added the butter, eggs and oil along with the can of pumpkin…but I'd say we agreed mine turned out just as good and without all the added fat! 🙂

  • Oh I've heard this…I'm not a pumpkin person so much, but I think you c an also do this with cake mix and a can of Sprite. Thanks Pinterest! 🙂 Will definitely try the mask though, awesome.

  • Okay, thanks to you, I stopped by the store on my way home from the gym, bought the ingredients, made the darn pumpkin muffins and ate four of them myself! I added chocolate chips too. They were yummy!! Thanks for sharing.

  • isn't the bread SO GOOD!! I made mini-loaves as neighbor gifts and they were divine. I need to try adding chocolate chips! I've gotten to where I always have a can of pumpkin and cake mix on hand…for 'emergency baking' 🙂 Now try it with a box of devil's food mix!!!
