I feel like a kid in a candy store when I’m in a fabric store! It’s kind of funny actually because I don’t know how to sew. This doesn’t put a kink in my fabric obsession though, and I’d have to say that buying a little extra of a fabric you love is (in my opinion) never a bad idea. You can do a million things with fabric even if you can’t sew worth a lick (that’s a little Southern slang for ya – don’t forget I married a Kentucky boy). 😉
The black and white fabric that I used as a background to frame my son’s artwork was left over fabric from another project.
I’m a big fan of all things black and white. Even though I only needed 2 yards for the project I was working on I decided to buy an extra yard. Apart from using it in this frame, I also decided to make some book covers.
All I did was cut the fabric to the right size and fold it inside the cover – no glue or tape. Such a quick and easy update and one that is easily changeable when I get tired of the look.
So there you go, the next time you need to buy some fabric for a project, buy a little extra.
Are you fabric obsessed too? What do you do with your extra fabric?

I love that idea for your books! I am a big fan of a little jolt of black and white too. It can work with so many colors.
