Fall Mantle

Monday I mentioned that I worked on our fall mantle over the weekend.

I kept it simple using things I already had.

Because my handwriting is so horrific I used stencils to write the word gather on the chalkboard.

I love fall.

The fact that it’s still 83 degrees outside can’t stop my love.  Nope – can’t hold me down.  But don’t get too worried, I don’t have any pumpkins by my front door……….yet.

Are you embracing fall in your home?

  • It looks greats Carmel. Im soooo needing to get a little Fall on over here-but Im knee deep in projects and fear I may miss the Fall decorating all together. BUT theres always Christmas! 🙂

  • The mantel looks great, your whole room looks amazing actually! I have been working on fall in my house slowly. This weekend I am working on the outside to make it fall.

  • I would love to be embracing the approach of fall, but unfortunately it's 105 degrees outside today. So…instead, I'm embracing your enthusiasm for fall. The mantel looks lovely!

  • Carmel, it looks nice, except for that horses head. I just do not get it. I have seen them everywhere, and it is not at all pretty to me.Sorry.

  • Hi Carmel. I just have to say how much I love this room (pre fall mantle), although I like the mantle as well. I just live all the color and texture and layering and yummy ecelectic-ness that is this space. I actually really like the horse! Im hoping to find a giraffe one soon. They are my absolute fav. I actually recently discovered your blog and I seriously look forward to it every day. Its one of my must-read-during-my-breaks-at-work indulgences. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

  • Absolutely love! From the animal head to the "gather" – I would love to know how you stenciled with chalk. Simple and pretty – and the colors work so well with the room.
