I love my kitchen! I really do. It truly is the kitchen of my dreams. It’s been a little over a year since we completed the mini renovation, and I still love every detail. Sure I’ve made a few tweaks here and there like replacing our breakfast nook table, adding a new pendant over the sink and bringing in some new accessories, but for the most part it has stayed the same.
I’ve always dreamed of a white kitchen with dark wood floors and lots of natural light.
I spend 99.9% of my time in this space and am even writing this post from my breakfast table. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a single thing.
However, if you remember, we started with a good but basic kitchen. Our black granite countertops were inherited from the previous owners. I often wonder if we hadn’t inherited those countertops what I would have chosen. Black is pretty easy to work around design wise, but black countertops can be fairly high maintenance as every. single. crumb. shows. We never thought to replace our black granite countertops because it just didn’t make financial sense to replace a perfectly-good-easy-to-design around countertop. However, if we had inherited a countertop that was in bad shape or that didn’t fit at all with our design plans…………well, I got to have some fun dreaming about the possibilities thanks to the Wilsonart Dream Kitchen Challenge.
A grey countertop would work so well with our distressed white cabinets, marble backsplash and this gorgeous brass hardware from House of Antique Hardware.
What does your dream kitchen look like? The fine folks at Wilsonart want to know and are offering one of you lucky ducks a $50 Williams Sonoma gift card!
