So I decorated my mantel for fall. Don’t freak out. I know it’s just barely September, but the stores have been trying to sell us fall for months now! I didn’t bust out any pumpkins or anything……yet. I just brought in a few fall elements to warm things up a bit.
See it’s not slapping you in the face fall. It’s just barely fall – it’s early fall.
It’s about time for bust out a pretty scarf weather.
At least it is according to White Beauty. She borrowed my wannabe Burberry scarf (the one I used here).
I kept things pretty simple and used a lot of the things that were already on the mantel. I brought in some dried eucalyptus and made a little fall art with some dried magnolia leaves.
I taped a fabric napkin (Target -purchased last fall) to the back of this wood frame (also Target – purchased a few months ago). Then used command strips to adhere black clothespins (I painted them with acrylic craft paint). I collect vintage clip-on earrings, so I used a few to embellish the clothespins. This was such a simple, quick and free (to me) way to add a little fall art to the mantel. I love the way the shape of the magnolia leaf mimics the shape of the feather (which was yet another Target purchase from last fall) that I gave a little gold rub ‘n buff treatment.
This mantel definitely has me in the mood. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I’m ready to put the flip-flops away and get cozy in some boots! Yep, I even bought 3 cans of pumpkin to do some baking this weekend – bring it on!
Are you ready for fall too? Have you busted out any pumpkins yet?
