Say hello to my newest victim.
You all already know how obsessed I am with rub ‘n buff. I honestly can’t help myself at this point. This plain black side table was just sort of sitting there screaming for a little gold detailing, and rub ‘n buff is just so darn quick and easy. How could I refuse?
In true bad blogger form I don’t have a good before picture, but you can see from the pic below that this table was a basic all black before I went at it with gold fingers.

In addition to adding gold to the edge I also gave it a gold top – of sorts.
I completely covered the top with rub ‘n buff in gold leaf and let it dry for about 3 hours. Then I sanded the top of the table with a medium grit sanding block to create this look where the gold is only in the grain of the wood.
I’m kind of in love with the result! It adds even more pattern and texture to the room.
Besides the drying time, the whole makeover only took about 20 minutes!
Are you obsessed with rub ‘n buff too? We should totally start a support group.
Here are a few of my other favorite rub ‘n buff projects.
Girl….nothing is safe around you and that tube:). Love how you did the top!
