I’ve never really liked decorating for Halloween, but last year for the first time ever I decided to decorate my mantel for the holiday. My kids loved the festiveness it added to the house. They’re not big on spooky or scary stuff either, but they love getting dressed up to beg neighbors for candy. While my kids are still young enough to enjoy little things like putting a witch hat on White Beauty I figure I should probably keep our new tradition of a Halloween mantel going.
This year I was going for a Hogwarts inspired mantel.
Since we had a Harry Potter marathon this past summer it seemed appropriate.
You know whooooooo obviously needed to come back.
My hideous handwriting is pretty scary. Good thing I used stickers in the frame.
It’s not a very spooktastic mantel, but it does add a little Halloween whimsy to the house.
Do you decorate for Halloween? Are you a spooky or not-so-spooky decorator? I shared a bunch of non-spooky but totally festive halloween decor ideas over at The Chic Site. Head over to check it out!
I want those striped candles and love the witches hat on the horse head 😉
