Little Plate Wall

The great thing about decrapifying is that it often leads to some fun project ideas.  As I was cleaning out a kitchen cabinet I realized that I had quite the collection of plates.  I love plates, especially patterned plates.  I’ll often buy them to use as serving pieces.  The thing is, while they’re not in use they’re just sitting in a cabinet waiting for their special day.  So I thought, why not let every day be a special day.  Why not put these pretty plates on the wall?

It was sort of a “nobody puts baby in a corner” moment.  So I ran out to Michael’s to purchase a bunch of plate hangers.  Seeing my plates on this little wall in my kitchen, instead of stored away in a cabinet, makes me really happy!

They’re great company for my vintage-soda-crate-turned-shelf for my succulent garden.

I never really set out to collect plates, but I’m always drawn to them whenever I’m out shopping.  It’s really nice to have a few of my favorites out on display where I can enjoy them every day.

  • I love it Carmel! What a perfect spot to display those beauties! Decrapifying ALWAYS leads to additional projects in my house – but in a good way. 🙂

  • Love love love this Carmel! It's the PERFECT way to display them. I adore how they add a whimsical element to the space. I collect vintage bottles, blue and white pottery, and vintage mirrors. I have my bottles and pottery displayed in various places throughout the house.

  • I love this. My dining room has no art on the walls. I am going to pick up some plate hangers and start decorating right after we get the curtains hung this weekend.
