My Favorite Things of 2018

Happy Monday friends!  Today is one of my favorite Mondays of the whole year as to me it marks the official kick-off to the holiday season!  Bring on the family, friends, food and fun!  The week of Thanksgiving really is such a special one, and I have so much good stuff to share with you all on the blog this week!  Today I’m participating in a really fun favorite things round-up with a fabulous group of bloggers.  We’re all sharing our favorite things from 2018.

*Stay tuned to the end for the list of participants!

My favorites in no particular order.

1. Madewell High Rise Skinny Jeans

The jeans I have on in the picture up above.  And that I wear multiple times a week.  I actually fell in love with them last year when I was on the hunt for a good everyday jean that wouldn’t get all stretched out by the end of the day.  Denim that sucks you in, maintains its shape and washes well isn’t easy to find.  But these fit the bill.  So they are absolutely my favorite everyday jeans!

2. Gold-Dipped Light Bulbs

As far as home decor trends go, these dipped light bulbs are really fun!  They’re such an inexpensive way to update or freshen an old light fixture.  They come in silver too, but gold is my favorite because it gives off such a pretty warm glow when lit in the evening.

I’ve always been a sucker for little design details.  And a seemingly insignificant thing, like a cool light bulb, can make me smile so big.

3. Leopard Rain Booties

I pretty much love anything in a leopard print, but I really, really love these booties!  It’s actually the bootie part, more than the leopard part, that I love most.  They don’t really look like rain boots but they are, and I totally dig that about them.  Plus tall rain boots have always made feel really warm, so it has to be very cold outside for me to want to wear them.  This short boot gives me the functionality without giving me hot flashes.  😉  Can anyone relate to what I’m saying here?  Here in South Carolina it rains a decent amount, but more often than not cold weather does not accompany rain showers.  So long story short, (see what I did there 😉 ) these shorter boots really serve me well here.

4. Pouro Pour Spout

That’s not a typo.  The brand name is Pouro.  😉  These pour spouts twist to open and close, and I’m pretty much in love with them.  Thanks to discovering these awesome spouts, I’ve been recycling wine bottles left and right this year, filling them with everything from olive oil and balsamic vinegar to liquid dish soap.  They fit so snuggly and securely, and I really love that they twist to close.

5. Faux Leather Moto Leggings

I bought these leggings last year, and they’re still favorites!  They are so comfortable, and I like how effortless they are.  Dress them up or keep them super casual, the options are pretty much endless!  They’re price-y but well worth it for their ability to suck you in, in all the right places.  Insert praise hands.

6. Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel

This Overnight Resurfacing Peel is a skincare game changer!   I started using it back in the summer when it first came out, and within just three days I noticed a visible difference in my skin.  My complexion looks so much brighter and even-toned since I’ve added this peel to my nightly routine.  It’s like magic in a bottle!

7. Leopard Tretorns

I actually just got these tretons last week, and I’m adding them to my favorites list for the year.  So I’d say that tells you just how crazy I am for them.  Tretorns are the best!  I mean, can I get a witness?!  And this leopard is just so fun!

8. Smith & Cult Nail Polish

Back in the summer I wrote a post about nontoxic nail polish and shared my favorite brands.   And Smith & Cult is my favorite among favorites.  The bottles are chic enough to leave out on your bathroom counter, but most importantly the finish is long lasting and chip resistant.  This polish comes in a wide variety of gorgeous colors, and I’m currently loving Lover’s Creep for fall and winter.

9. The Frame TV

Last year’s Christmas present has been a favorite all year.  I have so enjoyed scrolling through the art gallery and changing the display.  And I really love how completely and totally flush this television hangs on the wall!

10. SharkNinja Steam Mop

Last but not least is this SharkNinja steam mop that has revolutionized my mopping game.  It makes mopping the floor a breeze, and I love that I can get a really good clean without the use of any toxic chemicals.  I have no idea why I waited so long to get one of these, but I love it as much as you can love a mop!

  • I got the Tretorns too! Wore them yesterday! They were so cute that I couldn’t wait until Christmas. As someone who was in high school in the late 80’s, Tretorns were a staple. I remember when the plaid logo came out and that was a big deal. Now, they are getting all kinds of crazy- in a good way! Happy Thanksgiving!
