I usually wait ’til the end of the year to share my list of favorite things. But I’ve already fallen in love with so many new-to-me things this year that I just couldn’t wait!
First up is this book that actually came out in 2016, but I was just tipped off to it a few months ago by my friend Haneen. And it has quickly become a treasured favorite! This book is GORGEOUS!
Women Who Read Are Dangerous is a visually beautiful exploration of works of art throughout history featuring women reading. It aims to answer the question – What is it about a woman reading that has captivated hundreds of artists over the centuries? Including works by iconic artists such as Matisse, Valadon, and Rembrandt, this book is the perfect addition to your coffee table. But as the title suggests, there is so much more to this book than meets the eye. A woman reading was once viewed as radical. This book takes you on a journey through art that leaves you inspired and grateful. Years from now, I hope to see more Latin, Asian, and Black women readers featured in art.

GoopGlow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator – Without a doubt, this is the best facial exfoliator I’ve ever used! The fine grit is gentle but totally effective. I use it once or twice a week in the morning, and the smaller-sized jar lasts for about 2 months. A little goes a long way! Satin Pillowcase set – I was “influenced” – haha! I feel like everyone I follow on Instagram has raved about satin pillowcases. So I finally ordered a set, and I totally get the hype. The most noticeable change is how smooth my hair is in the morning. No more frizz! Insert praise hands! A satin pillowcase is also supposed to be kinder to your skin……I’m not convinced that’s true. But I appreciate the more manageable mane.
Covergirl Lash Blast Clean Volume Mascara – an $8 clean beauty mascara?! I had my doubts when Covergirl debuted this new mascara. But as a clean beauty advocate, I had to try it and compare it to my favorite mascara by Honest Beauty. And it totally competes! In fact, I think I might actually like this Covergirl more, which is awesome because it’s half the price!
That Covergirl is now making a mascara with clean ingredients is exactly why I advocate for clean beauty! We affect change with every dollar we spend!
Finishing Touch Flawless Cleanse Silicone Facial Scrubber – This facial scrubber takes my morning and evening cleansing routine to a whole new level of luxury! Everything else you’re doing for your skin is pointless if you’re not wearing sunscreen every. single. day! I know, I’m on my soapbox. But I’m not sorry. It’s true! But here’s the thing, even applying facial sunscreen once a day isn’t enough. It needs to be reapplied throughout the day. But that can be tough to do when you’re wearing makeup. This is why I LOVE this sunscreen powder brush so much! It’s translucent and makes reapplying sunscreen throughout the day so easy! I keep this stick on me at all times!
Drybar Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush – For those of you with long hair, thick hair, or wavy hair, this blow-dryer brush will become your BFF. It’s been a gamechanger for me! GAME! CHANGER! I used to dread blow drying my hair because it would take so long, and I’d almost always have to follow up with a curling iron to get a smooth finish. But not anymore.
For months now, I have been using this blow-dryer brush exclusively, and this brush has cut my overall drying time in half! And the bonus is that my hair has never been more smooth! Plus, it’s so much easier to use! No more struggling to hold the dryer in one hand and the round brush in the other. This blow-dryer brush is all I need!
