Welcome to my summer home tour, where the AC’s on blast because the outside air is thick with humidity, the drinks are ice cold, and the vibe is easy-breezy with a side of secondhand charm. Whether you’re here for decorating ideas, vintage finds, or just a peek around, come on in and see how I’m soaking up the summer season at home!

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays, and I love adding the buntings to the front porches! There are still quite a few things I’d like to do to up the curb appeal factor of our exterior, but college tuition payments are keeping me from being great. 😉 So for now, I’m not so patiently waiting for our landscaping to grow as I also ponder replacing some shrubs with limelight hydrangeas.

The front porch is my happy place in the summer, and this swing I built is still going strong 5 years later. I thought about spray painting these rusted copper stools, but I decided I actually like the patina. Or maybe that’s just the lazy talking. 😉

I almost threw this old, sun-faded outdoor rug in the trash, but I decided to first try my hand at giving it a makeover with some outdoor paint I had on hand. And I love how it turned out so much!

In terms of summer decor inside my home, I don’t really do much other than bring in lots of fresh clippings from the yard and weekly grocery store flowers.

Couldn’t resist adding my book to this stack on my living room bookcase. 😉

If you haven’t already ordered your copy, what are you waiting for? Every room needs a pop of red. 😉

While the seashell fireplace feels like it was made for summer, I am really excited to decorate this mantel for Halloween and Christmas!

I’m still thinking about adding beams to this ceiling (thoughts?) and am also on the hunt for a living room side table.

Recently made a very small but impactful change to this dining room view (that you may have seen on Instagram)…will share here soon!

You may have seen this on Instagram, but I went wild with black paint in my powder room last month. And I have zero regrets! I’ll share the before and after photos here soon. It’s still crazy to me how much on an impact paint makes in a space!

But honestly, the paint makeover that has really had the biggest impact went down last fall when the white front porch ceilings were painted blue (Hurricane Blue from the Duron Historic Charleston Collection for Sherwin Williams). The blue feels like a breath of fresh air and is so much easier to maintain!

Hard to believe sweet summertime is rapidly coming to an end, but I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of feeling ready for fall. Don’t hate me for saying that! While I’m not quite ready for my girl to head back to college or to let go of those late summer sunsets, I am very much looking forward to cooler temps, lower humidity, and all things pumpkin. Just me?!
