One of the greatest things about spending time in blogland is the inspiration you find here! Long before I started this little blog of mine, I would spend hours perusing some of my favorite design blogs. They say Disneyland is the happiest place on earth; and while I do love me some Disneyland, I’d have to say Designblogland is a close second (for me anyway). You can’t even imagine how thrilled I was when one of my absolute favorite bloggers decided to feature my dining room makeover on her beautiful blog!
I sent Kristin from My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia an e-mail thanking her for the inspiration behind my choice of paint color for the walls in my dining room. Her home is stunning; seriously breath-taking. She uses a light and airy color palette; and while I am typically drawn to dark, rich colors, I chose a soft cream (Waverly Cafe Cream matched to Valspar) for my dining room walls.
The wall color is one of my favorite things about the room. Every designer says it because it’s so true – paint is the easiest, yet most dramatic way to update a room! I always thought that if I used dark colors that I had to stay with that same depth of color throughout the house, but I have found that to be false. You can create flow between dark and light walls through your furniture and accessories. Lately, especially because of time spent over at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, I am leaning toward lighter paint colors.
I’m beyond thrilled that she featured me and my new little blog! Thanks so much, Kristin!
Carmel, congratulations!! Your house and your projects are always so inspiring, I am not surprised one little bit on your feature! The room looks great!! I painted our gold lamp bases in our master bedroom, and just love it. Isn't nice to be able to do those simple overhauls?
Hope you have a great weekend!
