I’d like to introduce you to Abbey Cat. She’s just 10 days old.
Isn’t she just the sweetest newborn you’ve ever seen?! We have a friend that manages a horse farm, so after brunch on Sunday we headed over to wish Abbey Cat’s mom a Happy Mother’s Day.
She was very watchful of her baby as any good mommy would be with strangers around 🙂 My daughter more than any of us really bonded with the foal. It was really sweet to watch them interact.
I just love these photos of my girl and Abbey Cat. I can’t wait to put them in some pretty frames. I don’t ride, but I think my daughter’s been bitten by the riding bug. My son just likes to watch them but my daughter likes to get up close and personal. I’m not going to lie I don’t know if there’s anything cuter than a little girl wearing riding boots and a helmet 🙂
In our house we’ve brought in just a touch of an equestrian style to our family room which is more of a nod to the horse-loving area that we call home than anything else.
I think a few pieces go long way without being too “themey”. I’m also of the mindset that you don’t necessarily have to be a rider to bring this style into your home, although I personally wouldn’t bring in riding boots or a saddle as decor unless someone in our home did actually ride (but if you like that look I say go for it – it’s your home!). Anyhow while the equestrian style dates back hundreds of years, in todays interiors it seems more and more designers are finding ways to incorporate an equestrian piece or two in lots of different design styles. It’s no wonder so many home decor retailers are showing off their love of horses too. These are just a few of my favorite horse lovin’ home accessories! Enjoy!

I love equestrian style and can't wait to bring some of it into our home. I'm thinking a large wild horse print for the dining room some day.
Yes, Abbey Cat is fuzzy and sweet! And for 10 days old, big!
