Last week it rained a lot. When the rain finally stopped and the sun decided to shine again, my patio doors were so dirty you could hardly see through the glass.
I’ve always used Windex to clean them. It has always done a good job of cleaning the grime, so when Erin from Casa Bella contacted me to try Shaklee’s Basic H concentrate I was a little skeptical. I mean Windex has always worked for me. Plus, since I’m a couponer, I never pay full price for Windex. So what made me decide to give Shaklee’s Basic H concentrate the ol’ college try? One bottle of Basic H equals the cleaning uses of 5,824 bottles of 26 oz. Windex! The 16 oz. bottle of Basic H concentrate only costs $12.15 or $10.35 if you become a Shaklee member! I don’t care how many coupons you use, you will not be able to beat this cost comparison! After finding this out, I just had to try it for myself!
I used an empty spray bottle and mixed the concentrate as it recommends for cleaning windows – 16 oz. of water and just 2 drops of Basic H.
I used a microfiber cleaning cloth and got to work. It worked like a charm. In my experience many organic cleaners just don’t clean as well as their enemies, the chemical cleaners. Just sayin’ that had been my experience in the past, so I really wasn’t expecting to be wowed by this product. Boy was I surprised! It is completely streak-free! It worked just as well, if not maybe even a little better, than Windex. I can literally see clearly now the rain is gone! (sorry, I just couldn’t help myself)
While I was more concerned with the cost/benefit analysis (I have a financial background – what can I say?), it does make me feel pretty darn good that this cleaning product isn’t bad for the environment either. It’s nontoxic and natural with biodegradable surfactants. In addition, I have a full bottle minus 2 drops left; and I’ll be able to use the remainder to clean about a million other things in my home. You can use Basic H to remove dirt, grease, and grime from any washable surface, inside and out: walls, windows, mirrors, countertops, floors, appliances (even stainless steel), sealed woodwork, sealed granite and marble, and furniture! My only issue with this product is its name. It is nothing short of awesome, so why the heck are they calling this stuff Basic H?! In my dictionary its called BOMBASTIC H! So you want to know what else is awesome? Erin is offering one of you lucky readers a chance to rock your cleaning world too!
I too have heard Basic H is wonderful…would love to give it a try!
