I don’t usually make design -mood- inspiration – whatever you want to call them – boards, but I decided to make one for the boy’s room. Part of the reason I have yet to finish his room, even though we’ve been in this house for almost 2 years, is because I just keep changing my mind. I thought putting together a board – let’s call it an inspiration board – would help me to narrow things down and really put a plan in motion.
I’ve started re-painting the walls this week.
I made a rash and regrettable decision when we first moved in and painted the walls a not so soothing blue color. Let’s just say that even if you find a swatch of fabric that you love and want to paint your walls that color, you should get a test pot of paint before diving right in because the color may look different in the room than it does in your head. 😉 Anyhow, I’m back on track finally, and I’m just about done painting the walls a soft grey – Olympic Zero VOC in Moonstone eggshell finish.
Here’s the board I put together.
We already have all of the big items on this board. I’m using this furniture from Pottery Barn Kids that we bought for him about 4 years ago (it’s the Larkin dresser and chest). The desk we have is similar to this one pictured except that it has a stainless steel top. We bought it at Ikea years ago, and I used it in my craft area at our old house. I already showed you the storage day bed that I “built”, and I’ve come up with a plan for a diy headboard (more on that later). So basically all I really need to do after I’m done with all the painting is to accessorize and hang some art. Sounds easy enough right? Well, it should be if I can ever finish with all the painting! I decided to give the trim a fresh coat of paint and that’s why it is taking so long! It will be worth it – that’s what I keep telling myself at least.
Now you know what I’ll be doing this weekend. What are your plans for the weekend?

I can't wait to see! My little boy also loves Star Wars and space so I'm doing some of that in his room too. Have you seen the Star Wars prints at Pottery Barn Kids? There are four of them for $29, which I think is a pretty good deal! My son's room is also next on my list, so we are in this together! My the force be with us. ha.
