What the Heck is Fish Foam? (Giveaway!)

****THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED******

So, when I received the e-mail with the words “Fish Foam” in the subject line I thought maybe it was a spam e-mail.  I had never heard of it before.  It didn’t go to my spam folder though, and I have a pretty descent filter.  So, I went ahead and opened the e-mail.  The offer to try out a new glass cleaner (for free), especially one that is ammonia-free seemed too good to pass up, so I quickly replied, “Sure, I’d love to put your glass cleaner to the test!”

fishfoam

I had the perfect test subject too!  Case in point, the soap scum on the glass shower door in our master bathroom.

I’ll admit that in the above photo it’s sort of hard to see the soap scum, so let’s get a closer look at the hideousness shall we?

EWWWW!  Glass shower doors only look good when they’re clean, but keeping them clean can be a major pain.  I’ve tried many cleaners but all of them only worked “okay”; and they all required some major scrubbing action on my part.  As soon as the Fish Foam arrived, I put that stuff to the test.
It doesn’t drip which is awesome!  But the best part is all I did was wipe it off  – no scrubbing at all – and the soap scum came off completely!
Hooray!  What used to take me about 30 minutes to get it looking fairly clean only took me about 5 minutes!  Now, that is cleaning that I can handle doing more than about once a month.  😉  In fact, now it’s so easy to clean the door that I keep the can of Fish Foam under the bathroom sink, so it’s easy to wipe down the door every couple of days.
Here’s a little more info straight from the Fish Foam people.
Fish Foam is an all-weather, ammonia-free glass cleaner and when sprayed, the professional grade cleaner immediately goes to work to make your glass sparkling clean.  It does not leave streaks or a haze. Thousands of home and business owners across the country have tried and seen the improvement Fish Foam makes…even on the sunroofs of their cars.  Your windows, mirrors, winshields, and glass surfaces will shine and cleaning them has never been easier.

Okay, so now that you know what this stuff is and you’ve seen how awesome it is, do you want to win some?!

  • I would love to try Fish Foam on my soap scummy shower enclosure! Another place to try it would be the "doggy nose prints" on my car window!

  • I would love to try fish foam on my huge glass shower enclosure. I dread cleaning that thing as it takes about two hours and it only looks okay when I am done. I have tried winded, kaboom, lime away, soft scrub, scrubbing bubbles, vinegar, baking soda. This last time I also put two coats of rain-x that you use on car windshields to see if that would prevent it and now I have this spotted, filmy mess. The last time I resorted to using the hard side of the sponge which they say not to do because it scratches and now you can see tiny scratches when the light hits it. I was at my end trying to figure out how to clean this monster.

  • I have the same problem with my shower door. There is so much soap scum and hard water spots on it that it looks more like frosted glass now. In fact that is what a friend thought it was when she saw it. I would love to give Fish Foam a try.

  • This stuff sounds amazing!! I, too, struggle with my glass shower doors. Actually, right now, they look horrid. I'd love to give this a try! 🙂

  • Holy cow do I ever need this for my glass top coffee table. My 2 little boys eat their breakfast there every morning, so as you can probably imagine, it is constantly covered with grimy hands and food. I'd be putting this stuff to the serious test on that surface!

  • I want some!!!!! Of course I have those pesky shower doors too, but I also have three toddlers so every single glass surface in my home has tiny hand prints all over it! This stuff sounds amazing!!! Thanks!

  • I would use it on my shower doors, too! What a funny name for the product. I hope it doesn't smell like fish, LOL! I love your blog and check it out every day!

  • Good gravy, what surface *DON'T* I struggle to keep clean with two little ones??? (c: I'm definitely going to go with shower as well, but dang it if that stuff wouldn't be awesome for all the sliding glass doors in our house and all the outside windows that the sprinklers hit )c: I'm pretty jazzed about this one, great find, Carmel!

  • I would love to try this out! I have the same problem as you, our master shower doors. I think since we had them put in about a year and half ago, I've scrubbed them dozens of times and made sure to use a squeegee after each shower and we still have nasty soap scum on them:( heres hoping I win!!

  • Our front and back doors are always smudgy because our pup spends most of his day waiting for us to return. Of course if you don't put your wet nose directly on the glass and smear back and forth forcefully, your owners will never come home. Our pup obviously does it properly, because we always come home. That's how dog brains work, right?

  • I had no idea I'd ever say this—-BUT, I need fish foam! Shower, shower and more shower. 🙂 And jenna reminded me that I also need it for the same reason as her. It is amazing that sometimes I have to spray windex two or three times for it to be clean for oh say a few minutes. 🙂

  • I need Fish Foam for our double shower in the Master. Between the Glass of that monsterous shower and the double vanity mirrors, I am definitely looking for a product like this!

  • Oh I totally need this too! Our old shower doors in our master bathroom are so bad that I put a curtain up so you can't seem them. Plus, I'm all about cleaning products that don't require scrubbing. LOL! I would love to be entered to win Carmel! 🙂

  • Our back door is almost solid glass and right now my toddler likes to lick it and then smear her saliva around with her hand. Eww! She tells me she is cleaning it. I think this stuff might do a better job. 🙂

  • We have sliding double glass shower doors in our one-and-only bathroom in the house. I can't use the ammonia based blue stuff so fish-foam sounds fantastic! My regular homemade cleaners just don't do well on the soap scum without a whole lotta elbow-grease. My elbows could use a vacation. 🙂

  • I have a back door covered with dog drool.. Yeah..It's pretty attractive. If that doesn't need some fish foam- I don't know what does.

    Casey:o)

  • Our sliding glass door, front "storm" door and the lower half of almost all of our windows! With 3 teenage boys and a 95 lb "puppy" who loves to sniff the glass we are in desperate need of some fish-foam!

  • ugh! the shower door and enclosure – I know what you mean about the scum -hard to get rid of – would love to try this. Thank you for the giveaway

  • OMG… I would LOVE to try it on our french glass doors in our dining room… our dogs and kids, well it's hard to keep it clean and even then it doesn't "look" clean.

  • I could use the amazing Fish Foam on my patio doors, between my glass licking Boston Terrier and my 4 year old that thing is never clean, oh and I am looking for an amazing product to use on our future glass shower door, our bathroom is getting a makeover, yay.

  • I would love to try Fish Foam on my shower doors! Another place to try it would be the "doggy nose prints" on my storm door to the side entry foyer. Thanks for the chance to win.

  • Uhm….all of my glass surfaces are hard to keep clean, duh! I have a BUSY 17-month-old baby girl with sticky hands and a 5-yr-old little boy with even worse sticky hands! Haha! If this "miracle cleaner" works like you say it does, I could REALLY use some!!! Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Not only would this help with the soap scum in the bathroom, it would also help us keep the glass sliding doors clean on our condo balcony. We're constantly having to clean the salt off from the ocean breeze (it's on the beach) and you can't really use too much water or soap because it sometimes lands on other owners' balconies. This would be great!

  • Fish Foam! I Would also use it on my glass shower door! Takes forever now to get clean and so much work. Once we get all the soap scum off though we do rainx it (our builder told us this trick) which helps keep it clean longer! Please pick me I would love to try this product!!!

  • I can't wait to try this stuff!! We did a master bath renovation to a "maintenance free" shower (or so we were told!). I'm hoping this stuff works as well as you say on my frameless glass.

  • Would love to give this a try. I would definitely use it on my car windows and the glass doors and windows in my house that have doggy slobber on them. I also clean homes so this would be great to try out for my customers glass shower doors.

  • We have hard water here in KS with high levels of some mineral that causes MAJOR white residue on brick, fences, windows, etc. Our sprinklers overspray a lot on the front windows of the house we moved into a year ago…. We also had so much stuff being stored in our garage that we didnt have the space for our cars… the sprinklers destroyed the windows… and we were told we would have to BUFF them in order to get the hard water spots off completely. I have tried so many cleaners with no success!! The front windows are spotty cloudy mess… and no matter how clean my car is… well… the windows always look filthy! How wonderful it would be to see in person a miracle worker like this… speeding up cleaning processes and beautifying my home so easily!! Im a busy mom with three and two year old little girls! 🙂

  • Would love to win Fish Foam so I could use it on my master bath shower doors! Nothing works! My arm is sore and they are still scummy! Please make me a winner and a believer!

  • Thanks for a practical giveaway! I'd clean my lovely daughter's doggie nose prints off our glass doors! And mirrors…they look cloudy. And the master bath shower glass walls (yes, we have glass walls…what were we thinking???). Hope I win.

  • So this is my 9th house and I am TIRED of cleaning shower doors, mirrors, windows, and more. Please…I can use Fish Foam!

  • I use a spent dryer sheet to get the soap off of my shower door, but it definitely doesn't work THAT fast. My big problem is that every time I leave the house, I return to a front window covered in wet-dog-nose prints along with the occasional lick. That stuff is even tougher than soap scum.

  • Does my car windows count ? They are forever covered in dog kisses…or nose imprints…my car is never clean 🙁

  • Were I to win the giveaway, I would pass the Fish Foam on to my daughter for HER glass shower door! But maybe, just maybe, she'd let me try it on my front door sidelights, which are covered in dog slobber.

  • I would love to try it on my shower enclosure. It would be wonderful to find something that really works. I have a window by my front door that is always dirty too!

  • The glass on our front door never seems clean, even after I clean it! Thx for the chance to win. Marla L.

  • I am sooo happy you posted this! My mother & I are constantly having conversations of how to get our shower doors clean. I can't wait to try this!
    Kyra

  • Oh, I'd LOVE to have this for glass doors that continually have spots where my dog loves to look outside. He gets them so dirty when he tries to "attack" anyone passing by. 🙂 Of course, I'd love it for all the mirrors too!

Thanks for the opportunity to win!

    Pat

  • Thanks for the opportunity! We have been in our house 24 years and have lived with 1960's storm windows. They have never been taken off to be cleaned ! I do the inside and outside as well as I can, but maybe this will inspire hubby to finally get the job done!!!,

    Wanda

  • I feel like this would be great for cleaning my doggie door – it constantly is dirty or smudgy or prone to the elements!

  • Shower doors … ugh! They are 20 years old and are a pain to get clean. Also, my front door is terrible to clean with all the hand prints from the kids and the added dog snot from him watching all the kids outside playing.

  • I would love to try this stuff! My shower doors are a pain to clean. I've thought about taking them out and hanging a shower curtain.

  • I would love to try this, I am always looking for a good easy way to clean my class shower door in my master bath!!
    Kathie

  • This is the best news! I struggle to keep my glass shower door and wall clean. It's really my nemesis. I avoid shower duty like the plague…and the scum proves it! I would love to try this on the door and on the hardware holding the door. Hard water always seems to gunk that up too. Thanks for your review!

  • It has always been a pain cleaning my shower doors. I can never remove all the soap scum. I would love try out Fish Foam!

  • I would love to test this in my house! I struggle with my microwave and the windows in the front of our home! Thank you for the chance to win!! (and the great tip)
