DIY Ombre Yarn Wrapped Candle

This is a slightly embarrassing diy post because it’s like a 2 minute project  – seriously – and it’s so easy it’s hard to even write a “how to” post.  I’m only sharing it because – well, who doesn’t like a super quick and cheap project?  Especially as we start to near that time of year when we’re all scrambling for gift giving ideas.  This 2 minute project would be great for a last minute hostess gift.  Oh and for any critics out there  –  you’re right, it’s not exactly 2 minutes – it’s more like 5.

So here’s what you need –

Then

Then just wrap equal parts of all 3 different colors of yarn around the candle making sure to add a little glue here and there to keep the yarn in place.

And that’s it.

I told you it was super easy.  The fun part is that because you hot glued the yarn to the fabric sleeve instead of directly on to the glass you can remove this sleeve and make a different one whenever you want to change the look.  Oh, the possibilities!  Somehow wrapping this candle makes it look more substantial.  It looks less like a cheap-o glass candle jar which let’s be honest – that’s what it actually is.  Lipstick on a pig  candle anyone?

 Yay for easy peasy!

  • Very cute. I've wrapped candles with the thread used for friendship bracelets and I've used hemp. I keep looking at the colors you chose, and thinking that if the bottom was orange it'd look like candy corn. 🙂
