Coming off of vacation mode…………..

………….and getting back to normal life is really hard.  Excuse me while I sort through a few mountains of dirty laundry and attempt to get back to a somewhat normal routine.  I had the best time on our family vacation.  If you follow me on instagram (Carmel_ourfifthhouse) you know I did a lot of this.

My daughter snapped that photo -ha!  I really enjoyed taking a blog break.  It was just so nice to disconnect…….

and enjoy some family time.

I even had time to finish reading a whole book!

I was sad to leave.

But I’m also excited to get back to blogging!  What were you up to last week?  Do you find it difficult to jump back in to normal life after you’ve been on vacation?  Have you ever been to Kiawah Island, SC?  It’s probably one of my most favorite places in the whole world!

  • I was going to ask too! You are probably the only other person that felt like I did! Everyone raved and raved about it, but I didn't really like it. I thought some of the twists and turns were good, but some of the later things that came into play I just didn't need to read.

  • you are so gorgeous and your family is so adorable!! looks like such an amazing time! i am headed to seabrook in a couple weeks… of course i will be solo parent/adult, so not sure how much relaxing i will be doing.

  • Looks wonderful and so relaxing and I totally get what you are talking about because we just got back from the beach too. It's so hard to get back into the groove of things.

  • You know you've had a good time at the beach when you come home with flip-flop tan marks on your feet :o) I love the beach (as do 18hundredmillon other ppl) and always find it hard to leave. We want to retire there some day. Glad you're back to blogging tho!

  • It was so fun to see your photos on Instagram….so glad you had an amazing week with your family!! I've heard Kiawah is gorgeous, it's definitely on my bucket list (the list never gets shorter, only longer!) Welcome back!

  • All I have to say after reading this post is, "Ahhhhh!" I always say you need a vacation after a vacation. We went camping for 6 days and are still craving to go again. It's such a special time to re-charge your batteries and really connect with your family. So glad you had a wonderful time.

  • I have never been so disappointed in the ending of a book. And none of the main characters had any redeeming qualities. I want to like at least one of the people I am reading about!

  • yay! welcome back! I totally hear ya on the laundry!! dont you just wish you could leave your vacation clothes there and start over!

  • Glad you had a great trip! It is so nice to get away from it all. I'm always sad when it is over. Looking good girl!

  • We love Kiawah! We've been vacationing there for the past five years and was just there in May. It's so peaceful and beautiful there, great place to unwind and enjoy time with loved ones. Glad you guys had a great time. BTW, love Fat Hen too, we always make it there at least once during our stay. 😉 Went to Husk for the first time this year and was the best meal we had all vacation. Highly recommended, great service too!

  • Such great photos! I love the one of you and your daughter in the matching outfits! Super cute pic and outfits! I loved Gone Girl, such a great book!

  • Pretty pictures! It's definitely hard to jump back into "real life" after a vacation! We are expecting our first little one so I am trying to save my vacation time for when the baby gets here. It's definitely hard because I want a break! But I know that later on I will be glad I saved it. Unfortunately I don't get much time off from work when the baby arrives so vacation is my saving grace for sure. I've never been to that island in SC but it looks beautiful! I'll put it on my bucket list. =] Good luck with the laundry!

  • I know what you mean! I'm still currently on "vacation," and by that I mean I'm starting week 4 of being unemployed in a new city and I feel like I'm on vacation!
