Happy 1st Monday of the new year friends! I hope you all had a great Christmas break with your loved ones. We packed in a lot of fun and plenty of downtime over the last couple weeks of 2019, and I’m feeling refreshed this Monday morning and ready to dive in to a regular schedule! I sat down over the break and took inventory of what I wanted to tackle house-wise in the new year, and I’m sharing my list here with you all for two reasons. 1. I thought you might enjoy getting a preview at what will be coming over the next few months here on the blog. and 2. If I share my house goal list with you all, hopefully that will keep me accountable!
January
The laundry room is first on the list. And if you’ve been following my Instagram Stories over the past couple weeks, you know I’ve already started on a wallpaper project in here! I’ll be sharing more about the laundry room and my design plans for this space here on the blog tomorrow!

February
February is a short month, but I’m hoping to make headway in both the office/guest bedroom and the master bedroom. My husband has been patiently waiting for a new desk, so that’s a high priority. I’ll also be painting this chest of drawers. The green room (as we like to call it) is such great space already. I’m looking forward to adding in the finishing details!

In the master, I might go bold with paint……..that’s still to be decided. But I am definitely going to be bringing in some curtain panels and a few other accessories, like lamps. I can’t function without a bedside lamp! My reading life is suffering!

March
I’m planning to tackle our very small powder room in March. I will most likely do wallpaper and molding in here! It’s a small, windowless space with a tall ceiling, and there’s so much potential for it to be a really great little bathroom!

April
Is the spring One Room Challenge in March or April? I can’t remember, but I’m planning on tackling my son’s bedroom! It’s a big blank white rectangle of a room with lots of room for improvement! I haven’t taken any before pictures of that space just yet. A 15 year old boy lives in it, so you can most likely imagine why I haven’t taken before pics yet. 😉
May
I want to get my workshop in the garage organized before summer begins.

June
I also want to tackle the entry area in our garage. This what I refer to as the “employee entrance” 😉 and it has so much potential to be a whole lot more fun looking than it is! I want to add some hooks for beach/pool towels and have some fun with either paint or stain…..still not quite sure.

Hopefully by June I’ll have my mind made up and will be ready to tackle this stairwell area in the garage.

July
Last but not least, I want to wait until school gets out before tackling my daughter’s bedroom. At 13, she’s just as into design as I am, so I think working on her room together will be a fun summer project for us! Plus her birthday is in July!
So that’s my lofty house goals list for the first half of the year! I want to see how far I get before laying out plans for the latter part of 2020. The holidays always seem to creep up so fast after school starts back, and more often than not, house projects get pushed to the back burner. So I’m hoping to stay motivated from now until summertime!
Do you make house goals at the beginning of a new year? I feel like it really helps me (not just with the blog) but also with budget planning and time scheduling.
Wow. That’s quite a list. Remember to take time and breathe?
