Happy Saturday friends! Grab a cup and let’s chat!
It’s happening, and I’m already in love!

I mentioned yesterday that I planned to paint our four poster bed this weekend, and I got started on it yesterday. There’s no turning back now, but that’s okay because I’m already super happy with the results! I’m using Velvet Finishes paint, and I promise to do a full blog post with all the details when I’m done!
Yesterday I participated in Laura Tremaine’s One Day Hour by Hour Instagram Challenge,…..
a project she created years ago where you document your day hour by hour. #onedayhh And it was interesting how much I learned about myself by tracking the way I spend my time.

A couple of things that stood out as areas that might need a second look:
1. My early morning routine has gone out the window ever since we started packing to move. I started staying up really late to fit packing in to my day without having to sacrifice my time in other areas, and those late nights made it really difficult to want to get up early. But now that we’ve moved and are mostly settled into our new home, I feel like getting back to my morning routine will be not only better for my overall productivity but for my mental well being. It’s just so nice to start the day in quiet reflection, drinking coffee, journaling and reading before the kids are up and the hustle and bustle of the day begins.
2. Life with teenagers is busy. From the outside looking in it can seem easy. There’s no dealing with kids that won’t sit still in a restaurant. We’re well past the legos allover the floor stage. They put themselves to bed. Parenting in this phase is less physically exhausting and more spiritually and emotionally exhausting. And I’m realizing after having documented my day yesterday that a daily check-in time, a designated download time, could be good for all of us. So I think I’m going to bring back after school snack time and use that time to chat with them about their day. Every day our schedule looks a little different, but I think 10 to 15 minutes to check in after school could work for us.
Have you ever tracked your time hour by hour? Or documented your day? This project was so fun!
Lots of questions rolled into my DM’s about these leopard slippers and pj bottoms.

These slippers are super comfy! And I love the sole that makes them easy to wear outside. I shared a whole round-up of leopard favorites in this post earlier this week.
The pj bottoms jumped in my cart at Target. They’re so soft and cozy!
And a lot of people asked about these jeans and booties.

Madewell jeans are my FAVORITE! And these booties are Cole Hann and already sold out, but these are super similar.
Lastly, in case you haven’t already heard,
we started an Instagram account for our new book club! Ashley, Cassie, Tracey and myself are so pumped about it, and we’d love for you to follow us there for all things reading and books!
@4readingwomen is an Instagram book club created by 4 reading women FOR reading women! And you can totally read with us!
Ok gang! That’s all I’ve got for you this Saturday morning. I hope you all have a great weekend! I’m going to get back to painting our bed now. 🙂
