I’m rolling in late this morning because I slept in ’til 10 am this morning. And after a week of sleepless nights it felt sooooo good. Happy Saturday friends! Grab a cup and let’s chat.

Last Monday’s mammogram call back
completely freaked me out. I chatted on Instagram Stories about this last night, but today I wanted to share a bit more about my experience this week.

This past Monday I was called to come back in for more scans because my yearly mammogram came back abnormal. All ended up being just fine. A second look revealed that everything is totally normal, praise God. But being that this was just my second mammogram and I did not know call backs are pretty common, I spent this past week feeling completely unnerved, anxious and……really alone.
I guess I wish Breast Cancer Awareness month actually helped to make women more aware. There’s more to the story than the simple – be vigilant about self-exams and get your yearly mammogram. Why aren’t we talking more about what our experiences actually look like? We’re walking in to these appointments blind, at least I was. There’s just a lot I didn’t know, and there’s so much more to the story that we should be talking about openly with each other.
Call backs aren’t uncommon.
I wanted to share that to hopefully help anyone who may find themselves in a similar situation.
Also, Thursday, the day before my appointment, I texted some girlfriends to pray for me. And simply sending the text felt like a huge release. I could physically feel the burden of worry lift.
If you’re like me and tend to shoulder the hard stuff alone, I’m learning that leaning in and allowing my friends to really be there for me helps so much! We weren’t meant to do life alone.
On to lighter news.
The only morning show I’m watching right now
is Apple TV’s! YOU ALL, this new show with Jennifer Anniston and Reese Witherspoon is flat out amazing! I am fully obsessed. It’s so relevant, and the writing is so stinking good.

Reading fans, we picked next month’s book!
December’s Book Club pick is
Everything is Figureoutable by Marie Forleo.
If you’re just getting caught up here, myself, Cassie, Ashley and Tracey have started a book club (and will hopefully soon be starting a new Instagram account!).

There’s still time for you to read along with us this month. We’re reading Anatomy of a Scandal for November. And we’re chatting about our thoughts on Instagram Stories every Wednesday. And stay tuned for a group chat we’ll be posting at the end of the month.

Last but not least…..
These leopard duck boots jumped in to my online cart.
I mean. They’re $35 plus 25% off, so how do I resist?
Alrighty friends, tell me about your week!
I totally agree with you about the mammogram experience! This was my first year that a 3-D was offered when I scheduled mine, and since I have calcification in my breasts plus dense breast tissue I was more nervous than ever. From my research there are fewer call backs with the 3-D. Mine came back normal and so thankful yours did too! Hugs from this Grandma in Waco!
