Saturday, already?! Just me or did this week fly? I mean I’m not complaining; I’m just saying. Grab a cup and let’s chat! But first let me throw the towels I keep forgetting in the washer. 😉

The thing about today.
Well friends, today’s my birthday. 41. Wowza!
I’ll say this, the best part about being over 40 is we did most of our stupid stuff before social media existed! 😉
On a more serious note, this really resonated with me this week.

What has totally saved me this week.
I’m not really a proponent of makeup wipes as a general method of cleansing the skin. I always tell people if they prefer a wipe to remove their makeup to follow up with a facial cleanser. However, sometimes you just need to wipe your face and go to bed. Like you just don’t have any energy left (I guess #thisis41 ha!), and you just need something quick. And in those instances I am SO thankful I keep these Beautycounter makeup wipes in my nightstand drawer!

In contrast to makeup wipes from conventional beauty brands, these are oil-free and synthetic fragrance free! And thanks to the aloe vera in them they leave my skin feeling so soft, not dried out at all! And as if all of that wasn’t enough, they’re biodegradable!!!! Convenient, effective and safe for the planet – the winning trifecta!
You get 30 wipes for $20, but on those nights when you just can’t even muster the energy to go through your normal evening skincare ritual, these wipes are worth their weight in gold!!!
The Trader Joe’s mix I’ve been hoarding this fall.
This gluten free pumpkin bread mix is so, so good! Even my non gluten free friends like this mix! I like to tweak the recipe on the box, but either way this mix makes the most delicious pumpkin bread or muffins. And I’m down to one box which means there’s a TJ’s visit on my agenda this weekend. Have you tried this?

The project I’ve been working on this week.
I shared a little update on Instagram Stories the other day that some of you may have caught. Our sixth house, the house we just moved out of, the house that should have been sold to a new family at the end of September, is back on the market. (Anyone looking to buy a house? 😉 )
Look how cute she looked this time last year!

The contract was contingent on the buyers selling their home, and unfortunately their home didn’t sell. So the contract fell through.
And we were bummed. But we also had too many other things going on with packing and moving and getting settled into our seventh house, our new home, to spend too much time thinking about getting our sixth house “show ready” again.
Now that we’re three weeks in over here and I’ve plowed through all of our boxes, it’s time to get serious about getting our sixth house back in order.
Removing all of the furniture and taking down all of the wall decor left the house pretty bare. And some decor decisions like the pink walls in my home office just didn’t really make a lot of sense without context. So I repainted them Sherwin Williams Shoji White.

And I actually really like how this room looks with its fresh new color!
You might also notice I took my beloved light fixture with me (it’s in our new living room now!) and replaced it with a simple flush mount. We still have a few other things to do over there to get the house back to its former show-ready glory but we made some solid progress over there this week! And hopefully soon we can pass this beauty off to a new family! Wish us luck!
Okay friends, your turn! Tell me all about your week!
Sent a prayer your way for the sale of your previous home. We’ve been there and done that. Sadly ours was in 2008 (market crash) so we had the extra one for four years. It was a MO to TX move so we weren’t even there to keep weekly eyes on it. Tough. One thing that helped us was putting a notebook with 8×10 pictures of the listing photos in the house so people could see how precious it was staged while they were viewing the home in person. Some people are awesome at visualizing space with nothing in it, and some people need a little help- but you already know that! ? Praying yours sells super quick. I can’t imagine it won’t as it is adorable!
