The Importance of History

The Importance of History
source

My grandfather’s favorite subject was history.  He could talk for hours about almost any historical event, and he remembered dates like some kind of history wizard.  Every time I would see him he would always ask me, “So, what are they teaching you in history class these days?”  These kinds of conversations often occurred with matching cones of pistachio ice cream.

He was such a special man.  And the older I get the more I realize what he was really trying to teach me.  There is much to be learned from studying and examining the past.

His love for history will be passed on as I will make sure my children understand the importance of learning from the past.

  • Carrying a love of history from one generation to the next is such an awesome thing. I'm one of those people who is intrigued by history but seems to know very little about it. I think I need to change that. 🙂

I do have a really silly question…totally unrelated. Do you use real or artificial plants in your home? The fake ones are so life like these days it is impossible to tell the difference. At least for me. And your's are beautiful. I love real plants but have never been very good at keeping them alive. Would love to know how you do it? Call me the weird and curious plant lady. lol!
