After stumbling across a few inspiring images through Pinterest…….
…..like these succulent word pumpkins, from The House that Lars Built…….
and this pumpkin turned succulent planter from Creative Home…..
I decided I needed my own succulent pumpkin combination, but I wanted to create something with a bit more seasonal staying power. I wanted to put something together that would allow me to ditch the pumpkins after Thanksgiving and replace them with something Christmas-y. So I used the wood shim planter box I made a couple months ago to create a succulent pumpkin patch centerpiece (say that 3 times fast……after you’ve had a couple glasses of wine) for my breakfast room table.
This was the easiest centerpiece to throw together.
Literally, it was done in less than 10 minutes. Once I had all the succulents planted, I added in a little green and spanish moss for texture and then layered in these white spray painted foamkins.
Like I said, easy peasy. And what I love most is that when we’re done chowing down on the turkey I can simply put my foamkins away for next year and replace them with mercury glass balls……or maybe some paper mache reindeer? Hmmmm……..not sure on that one yet.

Are you still digging succulents as much as I am?
Darling! I LOVE that planter!
