christmas in our kitchen

Happy happy Friday friends!  Today I’m participating in another blogger Christmas home tour – this one was organized by Lindsay of The White Buffalo Styling Co.  I shared most of my holiday home on Wednesday, but I saved our kitchen and breakfast nook just for today!
We spend 80% of our time in this space so I like to give it a little Christmas cheer every year. Although, I do like to keep it all pretty simple.

If you’re new here – welcome!  Feel free to check out the mini kitchen renovation we did a couple years ago.
christmas wreath over stove - hung with clear command strip
After seeing Megan’s wreath I decided I needed one above my range too.  I found this battery operated lighted wreath at Walgreens of all places, and I’m kind of obsessed with it.  It is sooo pretty at night.  I hung it with a clear command hook which makes it easy to take down if I need to when cooking.

Okay, enough talky talky I’ll let you all peek around.

You might notice baby Jesus isn’t part of our Nativity yet.  It’s our own family tradition.  He doesn’t get added to the scene until Christmas morning.

My diy instagram display got a little Christmas makeover with pom pom magnets.

I’ll be sharing more about these place card holders I made tomorrow.  Be sure to check back in!

  • I know what you menan about spending 80% of your time in the kitchen ~ and I wouldn't mind spending it in yours! It's beautiful and fun all in one. I love all of the little touches that make it so special. 🙂

  • Your home is beautiful. I also don't put baby Jesus in the manger until Christmas morning. We also don't add the 3 kings until January 6th because that is when the 3 kings actually reached baby Jesus with the gifts. We have a special small celebration on January 6th as well with three small gifts left to the kids by the 3 kings.

  • First of all, can I tell you how much I seriously love that you put that little scarf on your soap dispenser. So fun, Carmel! Your kitchen is beautiful and I love all the details. The vintage coke crate on your wall definitely caught my eye and I love those little horse racing cups in it! So cute! Merry Christmas! xo Jesse

  • I love all the little details, who would have thought to put a mini scarf on a soap dispenser?!?! (Damn someone else commented on it first lol.) So cute, and so festive, there is nothing I don't like about your home 🙂

  • Love, love, love, and love. With every picture I had something else I wanted to comment on. My two faves are the nativity tradition and the cars at the place settings. And I love me some Walgreen's. I found a fake mercury glass tree there this year that lights up! 🙂

  • OMG I love it. I decorated my kitchen this year too. I also put a wreath above our stove and I love it. Ill def have one every year. I just adore all the decorating you've done all throughout your home. And I adore your milk glass pitcher utensil holder.

  • I recently found your blog and I love it! What a beautiful kitchen for the holidays. I love that wreath I can't believe you found it at Walgreen's- I am going to be on the hunt for one of my own! And those cute little pompom magnets, so simple but such a cute Christmasy touch.

  • I spy a new pendant above the kitchen sink! LOVE! Do you mind sharing where you got it? Is it the small Eldridge Pendant from Ballard Designs? I was worried it would be too tall above my kitchen sink.
