This was a late night weekend project. It was one of those mcgyver type projects where you take a bunch of random items and try to figure out how you can make something with them. I had some gift wrap bows, gold duck tape, a small bit of tinsel, some green garland pipe cleaners………and a wreath form. Oh, and let’s not forget – the glue gun!
If I was an awesome blogger I’d have a step by step tutorial for you. But I’m not……so I don’t. Honestly, at 9:30 on Saturday night when I ran out of duck tape half way through I wasn’t even sure this wreath was going to turn out at all.
But I raided my craft supplies to find some glittery gold ribbon and I was back in business! Just enough to cover the other half. #meanttobe
I had no real plan – it was all very – let’s just see where the creativity leads me – this is what happens when I’m home alone watching Four Christmases with a glass of wine on a Saturday night. I know you can relate right?
Once the wreath was thoroughly blinged out I thought about using the garland pipe cleaners (you find them at Hobby Lobby) to make a little bow, but then an idea popped into my head…….and I gave peace a chance.
This wreath is a little weird and wonky and it has a very “hand made” look …………..and layered on this more traditional vignette…….well, it just makes me happy. I love weird mixes…..is it any wonder really – I mean of course the Japanese, Mexican, Puerto Rican American girl loves a weird mix. It’s in the blood I guess.
And this whimsical peace sign wreath is reminding me of what the season is really all about.
Glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men. – Luke 2:14
I’m excited to be sharing this peace sign wreath with Cassie at Hi Sugarplum! and Michaela at Michaela Noelle Designs, as part of our Holiday Cheer in the Blogosphere Parties! Come join the fun and link up your own Christmas craft or just check out all the inspiration!
Do you challenge your crafty-ness on random Saturday nights too? Are you overly obsessed with gold duck tape like I am? #pleasesayImnotalone #crickets
so fun and so you!
