4 minute beachy hair waves

Hey friends!  How was your Valentine’s Day weekend?  Ours was great – I only wish it was a bit longer.  Oh, who am I kidding, I wish every weekend was a bit longer.

So I don’t know about you, but I feel like the older I get the less time I want to spend primping myself.  I’m in this phase of life where I want to look good (or at least presentable) when I walk out the door, but I have no desire to stand in front of the bathroom mirror for more than maybe 15 minutes.  There are about 10 million other things I’d rather be doing than applying make-up or messing with my hair.  Am I the only one that feels this way?  I’m in the slap-this-on-and-go phase, and I’m also finding that I’m all about the whole less is more thing.  I feel like my wrinkles are less obvious with less make-up which doesn’t seem like it should make sense.  Anyhow, all this talky-talky to say that I’ve recently found this new “contraption”, for lack of a better word, that is cutting the hair portion of my regular routine down by quite a bit, so of course, like any good girlfriend, I just had to share this new favorite thing with you all!

Have you seen the infomercials for the air curler?  I’m not usually one to buy in to these types of things.  However, when I saw it at Target for $9.99 it sort of jumped in my cart as I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try  – just to see if it really worked.

I completely expected to end up returning it and was totally shocked when it actually worked!  To my surprise it’s kind of awesome!  And it’s so easy to use.  All you do is attach it to your hair dryer.  It comes with directions showing you how.  Then you section off a piece of hair, put it in and let it work it’s magic.  How’s that for a hair tutorial?!  😉

My hair doesn’t really hold a curl well but it’s also not stick straight, so just blowing it dry doesn’t really get it straight enough – know what I mean?  It’s basically a hot frizzy mess unless I bust out the flat iron, and anytime I’ve wanted to wear it curly it takes for-ev-er to curl it all with a curling iron.  This air curler gives me that carefree wavy curly look that I really dig in about 4 minutes!  I dry it with a hair dyer first but leave it slightly damp then attach the air curler – and boom – done.

And even after a long day my hair keeps these wavy curls which makes those 4 minutes totally worthwhile.

This is my little “setting the curl” trick:  After you’ve used the air curler to curl your hair, let the curls cool off before you fluff them.  The air curler will create little ringlets or what I like to call dread curls 😉  and before I separate them with my fingers and set with hair spray I let the hair cool off  (I go make my bed or something – or I turn the hair dryer to cold and shoot cold air all over).  That little cold air/cooling off trick helps the wavy curls to last all day.

$9.99 for 4 minute beachy hair waves?  – done!   Have you tried the air curler?  You can get one here or throw one in your Target cart next time you’re there.

*FYI  – This isn’t a sponsored post, but I did use an affiliate link.  My love for 4 minute beachy wavy hair curls is legit as is my love for Madonna and Justin Timberlake.  😉

  • I so adore your hair and wish I could wear bangs like you. My hair is so so curly and gets worse the older I get. My kids call it the fro. I used to have really pretty long hair with be achy waves/curls but now…not so good anymore 🙁

  • I really want to try this! I have naturally curly hair, but of course my hair curls differently everyday and so I usually re-curl it or flat iron it. I'd love to have some looser/beachy waves.

  • Just went to Target and had to ask three employees where this was, finally someone got me one from the stockroom! ? My 12 y.o. Daughter is using it right now and her hair is coming out so pretty. Thanks for the tip!

  • I saw an advertisement for this and I am impressed ! I questioned whether or not it would actually work. Your hair looks wonderful.
