You might remember when this console table lived behind our leather sofa. Last summer when I replaced it with a mirrored table I moved this white and gold one to the hallway. And then……for many months……it sat there. I never took the time to accessorize it because I knew I wanted to skirt this table but couldn’t decide on a fabric.

do you see me? 😉 |
Enter the curtain aisle at Target – where else? I loved the pattern and weight of this 84 inch fretwork curtain panel, and finding these decorative nail heads at Hobby Lobby was the cherry on top of this deliciously easy diy sundae.
All I had to do was measure the length from the top to the bottom of the table and cut the panel down to size.
Since it’s a curtain panel, the other three sides already had a nice hemmed edge. I folded down the cut edge and ironed the seam.
Then I attached the panel with nail heads at the ironed seam.
I gave the corners a little pleating action by folding in the fabric.
So now I’m finally ready to decorate and accessorize – my favorite part! And the best part is since we don’t have a linen closet on the first floor I now have a concealed storage spot for extra toilet paper and hand towels for the powder room (which is the doorway to the left in the picture below)! Man I love gaining secret storage spots in my home! It’s kind of ridiculous to get that excited over having a place to stash toilet paper, but I am literally that ridiculous.
And I big ol’ fat love the way these nail heads compliment this gold sunburst mirror.
Do you shop for fabric in the curtain aisle at Target too? I still have half a panel of fabric left to play with…..oh the possibilities!
Find out the deets on this striped hallway here.
love it and love how easy it was! (by easy i mean no sewing.
