unanswered prayers

If you follow me on instagram you know I saw Garth Brooks in concert this past weekend.

I can’t even begin to tell you how truly amazing it was!

I didn’t grow up listening to country music.  I was introduced to country by a girl named Kelli I met my freshman year of high school.  Kelli could sing…………like give you chills sing.……and she loved  country music.  Because of Kelli……I fell in love with country music.

Looking back now it’s really cool to see how God works and weaves things together so perfectly.  My freshman year of high school was a tough one for me personally.  My parents divorce became final during that year.  I spent so much time praying and pleading with God that somehow my parents would work things out and get back together.  When my prayers weren’t answered I was so devastated.

I remember the first time I heard Unanswered Prayers on the radio.  It was like God’s personal message right to me………..through Garth Brooks…………….”Remember when you’re talking to the man upstairs, that just because He doesn’t answer doesn’t mean He don’t care, Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. ” 

Saturday night when he sang that song………………I just can’t even put into words what that experience was like for me.    Those words are so much more than song lyrics……..that song ministered to me.

I thank God everyday for the unanswered prayers in my life because His plan is so much better than the simple plans I have for my life.  Let this truth comfort and inspire you today and everyday!
