novogratz at walmart?!

So apparently I’ve been living under a rock because I had no idea that the design couple, Robert and Cortney Novogratz, launched a home goods collection with Walmart, 9 by Novogratz.  Did you know?!  Or have I been living under that rock alone?  I’ve long admired this design duo’s bold, colorful style and was thrilled to stumble across their line on Walmart’s website.  I just wonder why I’ve never seen any of this stuff in the store?  Somehow, that just seems weird to me.  Like what is the marketing strategy there?  Because when Target collaborates with a designer the whole world knows about it long before the merchandise ever hits the stores…….um, remember the Lilly debacle?  So how, I ask, is this 9 by Novogratz line not taking center stage at Walmart stores?  Or am I just shopping in the wrong stores?

Regardless, I just had to share a few of my favorite pieces with you all.  The line is so fun and the price point is truly fantastic!  And no, this is not a sponsored post.
9 by Novogratz at Walmart
The line includes everything from bedding to wall art and furniture.  The furniture prices are crazy good, though I’ve not seen any of it in person so I can’t vouch for the quality.  However, the furniture reviews I’ve read on Walmart’s website seem pretty favorable.  I think it’s pretty cool that the sofa’s have backs that lay down completely flat converting them into a bed.  Kind of a cool idea for a multipurpose room, like maybe an office that doubles as a guest room.
Anyhow, I was so shocked to find this line the other day that I just had to find out if I was the only person that didn’t know it existed.  Are there any other designer collaborations at Walmart that I am unaware of?

  • Apparently I was under a similar rock! I love the iron beds and I'm in the market to upgrade my 4 year old to a Big Girl Room, so I think maybe one of those is coming home with me! Thanks for the heads up!!

  • Walmart just launched Pioneer Woman's cookware. Not my taste for the dishwares but the skillets and cast iron look amazing. I love the 9 line but they do not carry it in Canada….maybe a run for the border soon? 🙂

  • Had no idea this was happening — Wal Mart needs to maybe rethink their marketing strategy because I would be all over this line! I have been stalking the PW line online — the basset hound cookie jar is sold out but eventually it will be mine!

  • I had no idea this was happening either!!! I'm still drooling/trying to get my hubs on board for the World Market sofa you posted last night. "we don't NEED a new couch" yes, yes we do NEED that beautiful, velveety sofa to match our new/old refinished MCM dining set that we inherited! As others mentioned, PW launched her line in stores this past monday. I've yet to see in person. I absolutely adore her, but agree with Wal Marts mktg- she advertises for it on her website, and during her foodnetwork time slot- but i havent heard much other than that! thanks for keeping us in the loop carmel!

  • walmart marketing definitely needs a major overhaul! I just saw the PW pots and pans when I arrived at the store…lovely but I'd never heard of them. Carmel, you could do such a good job bringing this store into the 'future'!!!

  • Walmart and The Novogratz have been marketing this line. Bed Bath & Beyond is also carrying a Novogratz line of dishware. Cute stuff.

  • I knew about it, but only because my friend told me :). I got the metal bed for my toddler's room, and I'm very impressed with the quality (and adorableness) for the price!

  • I'm under the same rock and I live in the Atlanta market but the flip back sofas intrigue me!! On another note, I hope you are loving your new home and home city. I'll be home for Thanksgiving and cannot wait to sink my toes in some IOP sand!!

  • Target for the win! #imaginethat Lack of marketing is probably one of many reasons so few designers have worked with Walmart. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  • Right there under that rock – in fact I think it might be a boulder. I had NO idea, but then I can't say I would have happened upon it….since I am never strolling through a Walmart, nor a fan. Marketing is definitely a huge difference between Walmart and Target. Yep, I'm a Target gal! Thanks for shedding the light on the Novogratz products.

  • I accidentally discovered the line a few months ago online. I was reluctant to order anything from Walmart but so happy I did. I got 2 ottomans and LOVE them.
