Hey friends and Happy Friday!  I am so ready to sleep in tomorrow morning.  I’ve been single parenting since Tuesday and I’m dog tired.  My husband travels a ton for his job so it’s not out of the ordinary for me to have him gone; but this has been a long trip and an exhausting week of school stuff and well, I’m so tired at this point that I can’t even attempt to keep myself from writing these ridiculously long run-on sentences.  My 10th grade English teacher would not be pleased.  In addition to that I’m trying to finish up the tiling project in the powder bathroom because I’m pretty tired of having a toilet in my entry foyer……….but enough with the whining…..it’s Friday!  Today I’m switching gears from talking about all things home to share two of my favorite places to shop for stylish, affordable fashion accessories.
I shared the above photo on instagram a couple of weeks ago (God bless date night!), and a bunch of you all asked for the source on my kimono.  Most of you were surprised to hear that it was a World Market find, but that is without a doubt one of my favorite places to shop not just for my home but for personal accessories as well.  It’s definitely a go-to place for me.  This particular kimono is currently out of stock online, but you may have luck finding it in the store.  It’s kind of hard to beat the price point of World Market goodies; I picked this piece up for $17!  I just love a kimono!  It’s an easy way to dress up a basic jeans and tee combo (or throw over a tee and yoga pants and instantly look pulled together), plus you can totally rock one as a bathing suit cover up as well.  Lots of options from one piece.
I rounded up a few other fun accessories that have recently caught my eye.  I actually have that beaded bracelet and wear it all the time.

World Market also carries some of the cutest tote bags too.  I recently picked up this indigo and fuchsia stripe bag and love it.  It’s such a great size.  Plenty of room to carry all your stuff without being too large. And how do you beat $19.99?
Their bags are just fun and they make great gifts for your girlfriends. Â Right now you can get 30% off your total purchase with code FFWORLD, so if you’ve never checked out the accessories at World Market now’s the perfect time!

My other go to place for fun accessories is ModCloth.  I could get sucked in to that site for hours.  My idea of a fun night in while the hubs is away is a glass of red, Scandal and adding all the things to my ModCloth shopping cart whilst wearing old, ratty sweatpants and a tank top.  Yep, it’s suuuuuper classy.  Obviously I don’t buy all the things……but it’s fun putting it all in the online cart.  Am I the only one who does that?  Virtual window shopping is my jam.  Seriously guys, how did we live without the internet?  😉

I mean how cute is that palm clutch? Â And that gold bike pin? Â It’s basically begging me to put it on the collar of my jean jacket. Â It’s. begging! me. Â But this little gold bracelet takes the cake. Â I’m pretty sure all of my book club friends need one.
So there you have it, two of my favorite places to shop for fashion accessories for myself and for my girlfriends.  I remember years ago watching some television show (can’t remember which, I’m old, it happens) where the celebrity stylist said that 90% of your wardrobe budget should be spent on accessories, and I think that is really excellent advice.  Accessories always fit and have the power to create multiple looks with good basic wardrobe staples as a base.  I’ve been creating clothing collections for a few years now and having lots of accessory options is what keeps my wardrobe looking fresh.  The bonus of having fewer actual articles of clothing is a streamlined closet so for me it’s a win-win.
So what are your favorite places to shop for accessories? Â Check out how I keep my jewelry organized —>here!
Happy Weekend!
Yes, Carmel, I window shop online. Sometimes I put about 10 things in my cart and remove 8 before ordering or remove them all (or leave them in there). Just wanted you to know you’re not alone….have a good weekend with the hubs.
