I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was finally going to start sprucing up our screen porch. Take a look at the before pictures and inspiration for the space here. Today I’m popping in to share a little bit of the progress.
I hired a professional to paint the porch ceiling because I would have had to either rent or buy a ladder tall enough to reach, and after factoring that into the cost of doing it myself it just made more sense to hire out. I’m in love with the color. The blue ceiling adds such a fun vibe to the whole space and really highlights the height of the space as well as the pattern of the beadboard.
I also had the ceiling fan replaced bringing in our beloved Haiku we brought with us from our Kentucky home.
This fan not only functions a million times better, but it also brings in a nice coastal feel against the blue porch ceiling.
It took forever to clean and repaint all of the porch railings, but man did that make a world of difference. I’ve got one other painting project left to do in this space, but I am already having fun with my favorite part of any project…..the styling. These rocking chairs are so comfy.
I’m in big time love with these navy cushions with white piping. Even in an outdoor space, it’s the details that make the design come to life. To create a little side table between the two chairs I stacked a basket with a wooden wine crate. It’s the perfect spot to set down a drink. I find that outdoor spaces feel a lot more cozy and inviting when you bring indoor elements outside and aren’t afraid to mix things up a little.
I’m excited to finish this space just in time to enjoy for summer break! Can’t wait to share more very soon!
Gorgeous already, Carmel! And yes, it’s all in the details! Can’t wait to see more!
