At least once a day I get direct messaged a question about what app I’m using to create/edit a photo or story I’ve shared on Instagram. So today, I’m sharing five of my absolute favorite photo editing apps. *Important to note – If I can use something, that means it’s really, like ridiculously, easy to use. 😉 I’m by no means a techie. The photo editing apps I love to use offer lots of fun options and definitely help to up your game if you’re using social media for business purposes. I believe all of these do have a nominal fee but are well worth it for their ease of use and professional looking results. At least I think so.
*I use an iPhone and these apps are currently only available for iOS devices.
1 ~ A Color Story
A Color Story is the photo editing app I use most frequently. It offers lots of great filters as well as cool photo effects. And you can save your favorite edits to make photo editing simple and quick. Plus, you can use this app to edit video as well! It’s a very multi-functional app. If I had to choose just one photo editing app ~ without a doubt this would be my pick!
(stripe skirt, v-neck tee, suede mules)
I love the color fog feature and use it quite a bit for The Safer Beauty Tribe Instagram account.
I add the color fog layover in A Color Story, then I open the pic in A Design Kit to add the text.
2 ~ A Design Kit
What I love most about A Design Kit are the fonts and designs you can add to a photo.
All of the Instagram Stories Cover Photos seen here were created in A Design Kit.
3 ~ InstaBorder
Want to add a border around your Instagram profile pic?
InstaBorder is free!
4 ~ Cut Story
Have a long Instagram story to tell? Want to film it once and then have it cut into 15 second segments, so you don’t have to start and stop recording within the app? You need Cut Story!
It works with Facebook and Snapchat too, but I use it for Instagram stories. It makes me breathe a little easier knowing I don’t have to hurry to fit all the words into a 15 second clip, so I can relax and just video whatever random thing I’m trying to share. Then I upload the video to CutStory and it exports it into perfectly timed clips I can then share.
5 ~ Unfold
Last but definitely not least, and the app I’ve been getting the most questions about lately, is Unfold. This app is an Instagram Story game changer!
Unfold offers story templates that are simple and beautiful. It’s become my favorite app to play with as of late. You can share photos and videos within one template making stories so much more engaging yet concise. I really love this app!
It’s what I’ve used to create these layouts.
So there you have it! My 5 favs! These iPhone photo editing apps are not only fun to play around with, but from a business standpoint they make it so that I can log less time on my laptop. Because I use photos and social media for business, photo editing apps like these make working on the go easier and for this work from home mama that means less time at my desk and more time out and about with my kiddos.
