Have you all heard about Instagram’s latest addition – IGTV? I’m pretty pumped about it because YouTube has never really been my thing, and Instagram is my personal favorite social media platform. And from the way you all engage with the content I put out over there, it seems Instagram is your favorite too!
While I know some people were not and still are not crazy about Instagram’s “stories” feature, I’ve enjoyed getting to know you all a little better as stories are often a bit more personal/real and authentic. Coming on screen to chat or share things has helped me to break out of my comfort zone and feel more comfortable with sharing video content.
There are just some things that flat pictures and written words can’t explain, and that’s where video content really comes in handy.
Anyhow, IGTV is different from stories in two main ways: 1. Rather than only being able to share 15 second clips, videos can be much longer (right now up to 10 minutes). and 2. The videos loaded won’t disappear unless the account holder deletes them. So whereas with stories, the clips are only viewable for 24 hours (unless saved to a story highlight) the videos uploaded to an IGTV channel will be viewable basically forever.
So anyhow, long story short, I’m excited about this new feature! And I’m looking forward to sharing more video content with you all over on IGTV! Of course, the blog will always be my main way of sharing things with you all, but Instagram is my number 2. And I’ve already uploaded not one but two videos on my channel.

How to View
To watch these videos on Instagram all you have to do is click on the IGTV icon on my profile.
It’s also set up to be linked to the Our Fifth House Facebook page , so if you’re not on Instagram you can view these videos over on Facebook as well. And in addition you also have the option of downloading the stand along IGTV app for iOS or Android. So there are lots of different ways for people to tune in.
What You’ll Find From Me Over There
I plan to share simple DIY’s, decorating tips, shopping trips with fun finds and ideas, and some behind the scenes family life and house building stuff! The great thing about this new feature is you’ll be able to pick and choose which videos you want to watch!
