I big time love getting messages and questions from you all! Although I have to admit I’m not as quick to respond to email or even Facebook messages as I am to reply to DM’s on Instagram. It’s just so quick and easy to respond back on Insta. But I do try to respond to every single message and question received within 24 hours. Today on Our Fifth House I’m answering the 5 most asked questions of 2018 to hopefully serve as a resource for any of you who may have wondered the same thing. 😉
1. What paint color is your house?
Hands down, this is the most asked question I field on Instagram. And because of that I actually wrote a blog post back in September listing all of our home’s paint colors (both exterior and interior), so you can always reference that post. This shade of green is Sherwin Williams Salt Marsh, and our front door is Sherwin Williams Rachel Pink.
2. Where did you find your living room curtains?
I spotted this gorgeous fabric (Cream & Tan Classique) at Hobby Lobby and made these curtain panels with none other than a hot glue gun back in 2015. Yes, you read that right. I “sewed” them with hot glue. 🙂 And just FYI, this fabric is still available at Hobby Lobby. This material is really nice and heavy, and these curtain panels are looking just as good today as when I first hung them. I spot clean them when needed, and they’ve held up really nicely.
3. Where is your outdoor sectional from?

This outdoor sectional has a bit of a story. The sectional itself is from Lowe’s, however it’s not currently available. You can see how it looked back in 2016 when it was brand new in this reveal post. This past spring I gave it a little revamp with some white spray paint and brought in new cushions from At Home.
4. What are your favorite Charleston restaurants?
I promise that this year will be the year I put together a legit blog post of my favorite restaurants here in Charleston! I keep saying I’m going to do it…..and then womp womp. But to give you a short list for now ~ I love The Darling Oyster Bar, 167 Raw, Bon Banh Mi, Lewis BBQ, Leon’s Oyster Shop and The Ordinary……Charleston has a ton of really great restaurants!

5. Do you dye your hair?

I think I get this question so often because people know how committed I am to safer beauty, so they ultimately just want to know if/what I’ve found to dye my hair without all the harmful chemicals. But I don’t dye my hair…..yet. It’s naturally really, really dark brown. In the winter it looks almost black. In the summer months it looks more brown. My current management system regarding grey hairs has been plucking……but I have a sneaking suspicion that system is going to need to be revamped very soon. 😉 I’ve been researching and looking into different options. I’ll be sure to let you know what I find when I start dying my hair.
