There’s a possibility you saw this lighting collage over on Instagram Stories during Christmas break. I was trying to decided between these 6 pendant lights for over our kitchen island at house #7 and asked for opinions. Funny thing is the results were pretty much tied, except not too many people voted for option 4, which is the most notably different style from the rest.
I wrote a post a few years ago about how to coordinate lighting in a kitchen, and now I’m taking my own advice. 😉 Because the kitchen will be open to both the living room and the dining room in an L-shaped open floor plan, I’ve decided that choosing the pendant lights that will hang over the kitchen island would be the best place to start with the overall lighting plan for the house. This kitchen really will be the heart of this house.
There will be two pendants over the island and two sconces over the windows that flank the hood.
And after much thought I’ve landed on option 2 above for the pendants, and now I’m so excited to pull the rest of the house lighting plan together! I can’t wait to share more soon! I’m going with a sort of classic, old world vibe…..I’m really trying to bring that whole ‘new house with an old soul’ charm in to the design plan.
I’ve also decided on Hurricane Blue. 🙂 You know what I’m talking about if you caught my last house #7 update.
