Is there such a thing as cozy Halloween decor? I think, yes! That’s the vibe I was going for in my living room this year. Turns out, even as an empty nester, I like decorating for Halloween!

I kept it all really simple this year. And I think simplicity is the key when you’re after a more subdued cozy look rather than one that screams spooky. We’re not hosting any Halloween parties this year, so all I really wanted to do in our living room was to create a vibe that would puts me in the mood to make soup and watch fall/Halloween movies.

Mission accomplished, and I didn’t have to spend much money to make it happen. I gave my old vinyl bats a softer look with some gold spray paint, and I got a little crafty with a wood bird house turning it into a witch-y cabin in the woods with black paint, a moss roof, and some miniature pumpkins and broomsticks. It’s so cute; I can barely stand it! How have I never done this before?! (You can get a closer look at it here.)

I fell in love with this Pottery Barn jack-o-lantern pillow, but wasn’t crazy about the price, especially because I wanted two. So, I sourced these cozy, cream pumpkin pillows (so much more affordable!) and made my own with some black felt and a hot glue gun! I can’t love them more! (Quick, easy tutorial here.)

Now, I’m ready for a Halloween movie marathon! What are your favorites? Practical Magic is always a must-watch for me!
