A Keurig And A Bed In A Bag?

We got a Keurig from our besties for Christmas!

The hubs was crazy over it!   It took me a little while to jump on the keurig wagon, but yeah, I’m pretty much in love with it now too!  It’s pretty awesome to be able to choose any flavor you want and make yourself a hot cup of joe in like 2 seconds or something crazy like it.  Seeing how I kind of like to keep coffee on an IV drip it makes life easier and awesomer (I know that’s not a real word, but it is in my dictionary- k.)  Plus it was a GIFT!  We still can’t believe we have friends that like us enough to buy us such a nice gift!  We have the bestest friends ever!
Anywho, what does a Keurig and a bed in a bag have to do with each other?  Well, we took a little trip to the BB&B (otherwise known as Bed, Bath, and Beyond) to buy some k-cups and somehow ended up coming home with this?!
I mentioned in my to-do list for the year that giving the master bedroom a new look was on the agenda.  However, I wasn’t exactly planning to tackle that for a few months, but I already knew I wanted the color palette to be a mix of grey, cream, and gold.  I really don’t know how I ended up wandering over to the bedding department.  I’m not usually a “bed-in-a-bag” person.  I like to mix it up with my bedding so it’s not all matchy-matchy.  However, I bought this bagged set because it was a silvery grey color that I thought would play nicely with the gold bedskirt and euro shams we already had.    When I found this last king-sized set in the clearance section I was sold.  To add to my shopping bliss I had a 20% off coupon!  Angels sing!
With a 20% off coupon that brought the price down to $135.99 for an 8 piece set for a king sized bed!  The new set of sheets that it came with are really super soft too!  Since I’m not using the bedskirt that came with the set,  I may use that material to make a table runner or maybe just give it to a friend.  I’m not sure yet.  I am sure that I am really impressed with the quality and feel of the materials!
I tried it on the bed this way.

I wasn’t crazy about the bold stripes on the comforter so I turned it over to the other side.

Sorry for the poor picture quality.  Snow days sometimes equal bad lighting.  Oh, and I know I’ve got to do something about those sconces already.  Geesh, I need to put some shades on those things or take them down or for heaven’s sake something!  Anyhow, I like it better on the reverse side (not showing the  stripes) but the hubs likes it better the other way.  What do you all think?  Stripey or no stripey?

Either way, I’m in love with this mix of materials and colors.  I am sooo glad we ditched our old matelasse bedspread for this comforter.  It’s so fluffy and soft.  It’s like my bedding is hugging me when I go to sleep 🙂  Plus it’s not too hot ( I really hate bedding that makes you super hot and you have to throw the covers off in the middle of the night).

Here’s the before.

Here’s the after new bedding.

Isn’t it crazy how changing the bedding actually made the wall color look a little different?!  The comforter makes the walls look more grey where before they looked a little mossy.  I really like the change!
Since I’m kind of a hoarder when it comes to the BB&B coupons, I went ahead and bought a couple of accent pillows.  Here’s a closer look.

So, thanks to our besties we can drink gourmet coffee all day long and regardless of how much caffeine we consume we’ll still sleep soundly in our new huggable bedding every night 🙂  Cheers to a good night’s sleep!
Do random unexpected things ever follow you home from stores?  Or does this only happen to me?  Ever stumble on a great deal when you least expect it?  Sometimes shopping is like a treasure hunt, don’t you think?
