Or at least it would be really nice if it did! We had some really warm, sunny bust-out-the flip-flops-and-get-a-pedicure days, and then BAM, back to cold, cold, cold! We even had a little ice! I think spring may need to be wooed back in, so I asked my kitchen to help me out in the wooing department.
Winter may be partying outside, but inside we’re gettin’ springy with it! Yes, that was a Will Smith song reference. Don’t act like you don’t love you some Fresh Prince. I may or may not have the theme song to the show memorized 😉 You’ll never know for sure.
I was going for easy-breezy-spring-don’t-tease-me 🙂 I already had everything but the fresh flowers which were about $10 at Kroger (the big gigantic Krogers have great floral departments – lots of good stuff to choose from with plenty of manager’s specials!). In case anyone was wondering, Kroger is a grocery store.
This table runner is actually just two cotton dish towels (Willow House) that I overlapped in the center of the table. I laid it down vertically rather than horizontally for a little added interest.
This tray is from the Smith and Hawken line at Target. I bought it last fall. I’m thinking the hubs needs to bring me breakfast in bed in this tray on Mother’s Day (Did you read that babe? Good -we’re clear then – scones will work perfectly – thanks! ;). The teapot I’ve had for a long time. I have an obsession with white teapots that I’ve yet to share with you all. Using them as vases makes me so happy it’s scary! These glasses we’ve had since our newlywed days. I filled them with some white rocks and candles.
I adore them!
I also filled a white pitcher with some hydrangeas (they are my all time favorite) for the kitchen counter! I bought this pitcher a while ago at Kroger for $7.49. (Here’s a tip – the gigantic Krogers that I mentioned above have home sections in them. They have some pretty great stuff! They also have a clearance aisle that is filled with treasures – for realz!)
The white milk glass bowl I bought at a thrift store here in Lexington almost 10 years ago! I love its scalloped edge. Now, do you think those apples are real or fake?

Never mind the random lines drawn on the chalkboard. My girl said she was going to draw me some bunnies? |
Ok spring have I wooed you enough? Will you please come back and stay for more than a week this time – pretty please – with a sweet little white ceramic bunny on top? I’ll make waffles with strawberries and real whip cream if you come back for good. Deal?!
What about you? Are you ready for spring? Or are you wooing like I am? If you’re enjoying weather above 40 degrees right now, I kind of hate you 😉 But mainly I’m just green-green-green with spring envy!
I’m linking up to Centsational Girl’s Fair Weather Forum, My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia, Tatertots and Jello Weekend Wrap-up, and Designer Garden.
Very pretty! I love seeing everyone's beautiful spring decor! Thanks for sharing.
